LIU brooklyn fall 2018

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi everyone! I wanted to start a thread for LIU brooklyn BSN students of FALL 18. I will be starting my nursing/clinical phase in September 18 and I was admitted as a transfer student. Is anyone starting around the same time? Also, if you're a current student, is there any helpful feedback or advice you can provide for new students? How is the clinical experience? Professors? School in general? etc.

Thank you and hopefully we'll get to meet in school! :cat:

I had a lot of confusion when I started last semester as well, so figure I would take a minute to clear up some of the questions. The Ati books are online at Ati and you will have access to it once you are given the ATI code. There has been a lot of changes to the curriculum and admin staff (hence the confusion) but once you start the professors for the most part are very good and knowledgeable.

Thanks for the info....yeah its been a confusing two days!!!

Hey is there any chance you could email me the pdf for that class . (Dina.zantout @ Gmail.com)

Hi guys. Has anyone purchased the pharm 7.0 book?

if you're talking about the ATI pharm book, I believe they have them on amazon for under 10$

Thanks, just ordered the book from Amazon!:geek:

hey does anybody have a pdf of the Lipincott's nursing drug guide 2015? Every where I checked it says out of stock :/

hope u guys are doing well. I'm level 2 but we probably have same classes. im alway available to give advice on classes if need. good luck

Hey everyone! I was originally accepted for the Fall 2018 nursing cohort but I deferred my admission till Spring so I'll be starting in January. How do you all like the program so far? I haven't had the best time trying to communicate with admissions/faculty at LIU which has been very frustrating and not the best first impression of the school. I'm hoping the professors and students are much more friendly?

Can someone please PM me about the admission process to LIU, I'm currently a nursing student at City Tech which is closeby. Sadly, I'm looking into transferring to LIU nursing program. City Tech idk if you guys know has a bad rep, people fail like dead flies and the program is really aimed for you to fail. So if any brothers or sisters in here please message me about like what classes I need to complete to start clinicals asap or any insight into the program such as Kaplan, Hesi, ATI so I know what to prepare for since I already have experience with nursing school! Thanks in advance.

Hey nurseKirat! My first semester impression of the school is not bad. As you said, the communication is not the best so if you want to get anything handled it's best to go in person and be on top of them. Besides that, I enjoyed all of my professors and the program overall. I can't speak on behalf all professors because I did hear some negative things but I did not have any major issues. They were always available for help and tried hard to push everyone to pass. I also made friends in the school and everyone always helps each other out. One thing I learned is you can't be negative and blame the school but instead take that time on bettering yourself and your education. Hope you have a good experience!

hey moonlightbae. For the admission process it's best to go to the transfer days and get on the spot admission. I went with all of my documents like previous transcripts, etc. and got accepted on the spot so I did not have to go through the stress of waiting on an acceptance letter. The classes you need to complete should be in the LIU nursing handbook (edited this year) but once again it's best to show them what you have and let them tell you what you're missing because the requirements are always changing. The school is currently using the ATI for preparation. The program overall is good and they try to make sure students pass (at least in my experience). They also took out the TEAS exam but not sure if there is anything else they need instead so just find out with the school. Hope that helps!
