Double major , mostly Bs then As, how are the GPAs views?

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

I'm currently and undergrad and taking the prerequisite classes needed for the accelerated nursing program for Pace university and NYU. My question is, majority of my grades are Bs, does anyone know if nursing schools look down at that? I'm double majoring and it is really hard to balance all the classes . That being said, I have way more Bs then As. My majors GPAs are 3.7 BA in art and 3.0 BS in psychology. Does anyone know how will these schools view that? And in general is that looked down upon and affect my acceptance?

Also, do they just view the higher major GPA? Or take both in to account?

Totally depends on the school. You'd need to look at the specific programs you're interested in and what they look at.

That said, overall GPA is REALLY important, as are the grades in your prerequisites. Look at the average GPA of the students being admitted at the schools you plan to apply to. I believe the average in my program is somewhere around a 3.87.

I don't know of any program that sorts out your GPA based on which major they apply to. They'll generally look at your overall transferable credits and take your cumulative GPA from that.
