Augusta U- MSN/CNL- Fall 2018 Entry

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

I don't see a group yet started for admission to the Fall 2018's Augusta U MSN/CNL program. I have read through the forum of the Fall 2017 group and it seems to have been very informative!

I am excited once this group starts getting some members, so we can discuss the process (and adventure?!) of applying and finishing pre-reqs!

I am a second career applicant who works full time as an office assistant to two MDs and 1 BSN now. I have previously been a CNA and worked as a PCT in a small rural hospital on the med/surg floor, but then went on to get a BA in English from UGA. After having been an assistant for 4 years and out of school for quite a few more, I am excited about starting this RN program and still question why I didn't do this from the beginning :-) Oh well, I feel I have a lot of real world experience now and I am a much better learner then before! I have four pre-reqs left. A&P 1 and 2, Microbiology, and Human Development. I am planning on trying to CLEP the Human Development course this fall. Currently in the waiting process for acceptance into the Perimeter Campus of Georgia State University to start the other courses.

Looking forward to talking with all of you!

GPA: 3.31

What is yours if you don't mind me asking?

Mine is 3.49

Does anyone happen to know how many interviews they give out?

Specializes in NICU.

There isn't a set number of interviews. It is dependent upon the ratio of staff they have to students. Also, it depends on the number of students applying for that specific term.

Have you taking the GRE? If so what did you score? When do you plan on applying?

I would say yes because you should never be comfortable. You have to think about your GPA and possibly how many people have the same GPA or higher GPA than you do. From what I was informed, a interview isn't always extended if you meet the requirements. Once interviewed decision is made relatively fast either by mail or by phone. Phone interview is acceptable in extreme conditions if not able to make it in person. Interview is the deal breaker. It seems like mostly everyone from our old chat who got invited for an interview got accepted. Also, my GPA requirements have increased since then, so we shall see. I plan on submitting my application no later than Sunday, and I will keep you all in the loop of how that goes. You will receive additional emails after submitting your application.

So we need to pray not to have such competitive mates! Praying we all get in. You really don't get to find out what your GPA would be until almost last minute which makes it scary! I hope all goes well with us all. I thought if you meet the requirements you are good I didn't know you have to be screened to. I am sure prayer will resolve it all. I am highly favored!! Thanks for the update!!

Hello, is there a reason why you want to retake your GRE? Well we just praying that we don't have too many people with higher GPA which would make it more competitive also they really do not use the prerequisites GPA but they advice you get mostly As and Bs.

Because I have a low GPA I need to make up for it..aiming for a 310 on gre! What are you stats ENNY?

Hey guys! I'm also applying for Fall 2018 entry and I'm extremely nervous! My overall GPA is average, 3.31 but I transferred to GSU for my last 2 years and graduated from there with a 4.03. I'm really hoping they take that into consideration! I'm most nervous about my GRE score, I didn't study and scored exactly 290. :( I've been thinking of retaking it but sitting through that exam was torturous. I wish everyone the best during this application cycle!

If you don't mind me asking how did you graduate with above a 4.0?

Georgia State utilizes a plus-minus system.
