Online Medical Terminology course?

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Hey guys :)

I'm thinking about taking medical terminology online this summer at Del Tech - It seems like it will be a pretty easy course. I already took AP 1 and 2, I just think it will be a nice Gpa boost if I do well in the course.

Any experiences with online med terms?

Thanks :)

I'm wondering about it also..I am taking it in the fall.

I'm taking it now actually. So far so good. Probably have to make lots of flashcards to remember the abbreviations.

Its only a 4 week course, so I'll check back in in a week or so and tell you how it's going.

ok thank you :)

I'm guessing it would be pretty simple - especially after taking AP1 and AP2?

Anyone take Sociology online? I'm taking sociology and med terms online this summer. I just want to make sure I'm not giving myself a disadvantage?

Opinions anyone?

I have an online med term class this semester. Like you, I just needed another class and wanted something that would be pretty easy and it definitely fits the bill! I took both semesters of A&P last summer and am currently enrolled in pathophysiology so med term is cake. My professor offers a ton of extra credit, too, so after 3 quizzes and 3 exams with a project still to be graded and the optional final to take, I have 412 points out of 410 possible.

Sociology should be a great online class, too. I've found that with a lot of the introductory level online classes, it's mostly busy work - short assignments and discussions about concepts that are pretty basic. I'd much rather do that at my own pace than take it as a traditional class.

Exactly! Especially as summer courses. I figured I could knock credits out of the way, and not have to spend my summer cooped up in a class room.

Thanks for your help :)

xohailey, looks like you and I have the same summer courses planned, LOL. I'm taking both online so I'm hoping that will make them easier... sometimes that happens to be the case. I'm taking med term to help with patho bc the professor that teaches it hear expects you to already know it even though it is not a pre-req

Haha yeah girl!

I heard someone tell me that sociology is impossible to take online and it's like way harder? I've also heard students say sociology is a piece of cake and it would be fine to take online?

So I was just asking for some opinions. Who knows, we should be fine though. I took psychology courses online before and had no trouble.

Good luck :)

Hailey,

You could always try a website like www.ratemyprofessor.com and see what other students have said about your summer school professors to get an idea but I think if you did fine in an online psychology class, sociology should be pretty simple.

Yeah, I've heard that too. I'm crossing my fingers that sociology isn't so bad. I ended up switching Nutrition for online terminology this summer...worked out better for my schedule. So we'll just be in socio together but I'll be anxious to hear how your online term class goes. Good luck

This helps a lot. I always check mine before.

I needed 2 credits to get myself to FT status so I took Med Term online through my university. It is a relatively easy class. I took AP1&2, and Patho already...so I have already been exposed to many of the words. The Med term book we use has a CD with games and makes memorizing a whole lot more interesting than plain flashcards. There is minimal teacher presence, which I like, and only involves quizzes and tests...love it!
