I *think* University of Phoenix has a LPN-BSN program in CA. I may be wrong. I will be investigating and will repost once I find more info.

Beware, it has been confirmed that the LVN to BSN course offered by Indiania State University and Sonoma State University is still pending with the California Board of Registered Nurses. The board is to vote on approval/denial of the program on Feb 16th, 2007.

Has anyone heard any other official information from the BRN about this program. It would be a real shame if the College network is taking advantage of this.

Also, there is no official listings on either Indiana State or Sonoma state websites that I can find. It makes me wonder if this is really a fishy marketing campaign from the college network.

Someone correct me with some more information and the I can verify!

Is is so disgusting that there are so many who can not enter the nrsg school pipeline due to a reported lack of school and clinical spaces, lack of facilities and instructors, and this "you scratch our back, we'll scratch your back" arrangement is even being considered? This is the same BRN that came up with their **** reasoning for getting rid of Excelsior as an alternative for CA nrsg students? Two-faced politics here. Wonder what pocket-lining is involved.

I agree, and what's even worse is that California wont accept Chamberlain Excelsior, or Kaplan, but they'll accept foreign education through a challenge procedure (review academic record of course)....

University of Phoenix has an RN-to-BSN that is approved in California, but not an LVN-to-BSN program.

I had heard that there was an LVN to RN through the Modesto Campus.....I could be wrong...don't quote...

I am not bashing foreign grads here just quoting an official at the Employment Development Department who stated to me that many of those using foreign educational credentials (translated by the auth listed on the application for license) are presenting forged documents and have done so through the years. He said it, this is not something I made up.

Foreign nurses must have a BSN to work in the US, it is not a review of their academic record that is any different than yours would be evaluated.

It is not a challenge procedure, they have all graduated from an approved school of nursing in their country, or even the US.

And they qualify to write the same NCLEX-RN exam that you do.....based on their schooling and training and nothing more.

They are not challenging anything. No nurse anywhere in the world can challenge the NCLEX-RN, all must graduate from an approved school of nursing.

Please check your facts first.

If they used forged documents, they get deported. It is very easy to tell who has gone thru a program and who has just bought a license. And this happens in any field, it is not restricted to nursing. And it does happen in the US as well, and with those in medical school.

every single state in the us accepts foreign nurses for licensure, it is not restricted to ca.
