Hello everyone,
I'm planning to go back for my BSN as an ADN nurse. But we all know how busy life can get. I'm planning to do my BSN online, and I have read a lot about online classes and etc. Does anyone knows if online degree are really recognized by employers? Any advise is highly appreciated. Thank you.

I just started my online BSN at the University of Maryland, Baltimore. Top 7 in the nation for nursing schools...if my employer didn't recognize it, I'd have to b#@$h slap them : ) As long as they're accredited by the appropriate entities, go for it!

Many RN to BSN programs seem to be switching to the wayside of on-line learning. I know a few people who have completed the University of Phoenix program and have competitive jobs. Just make sure it is accredited!

Of course, just make sure the school is accredited.

Yes, "online" degrees are recognized by employers. And many reputable universities are turning to online curriculum to expand their student base. I graduated from University of Michigan-Flint's online program....my degree says "University of Michigan"..nothing about it being online.
I'll be honest...I had way more work than some in traditional programs. While you can sign in at your covenience, which works out well for me as I'm a night shift employee who follows a night shift schedule even when I'm not working, tons of reading and tons of papers. Honestly, busy work ...but that's the trade off.
All in all, I was happy with my program. I've dreamed of graduating from Michigan since I was 10...this was a dream come true.
