online BSN- no proctored exams

I would encourage you to address your test anxiety rather than try to avoid situations that trigger it. Even if you did find a program without proctored exams, you'll still have to sit for the NCLEX when all is said and done.

I have generalized anxiety disorder. I've honestly found that I only get anxious for tests when I'm not prepared for them.

Hello,
I recently tried WGU's RN-BSN program and had such severe test anxiety I had to drop out. It has been 20 years since my ADN and I am wondering if anyone knows of an online RN-BSN program that does not have tests. I did fine with biochem online and am very good with papers, power points, and projects. I think I was hoping that the BSN would be more theory based and less testing. Any advice on programs would be greatly appreciated.

To be honest, I would be highly skeptical of any RN-BSN program that did not have any testing. Papers and presentations can't test/demonstrate/measure every bit of essential knowledge and skill.

I agree with PP: you would do far better to address your test anxiety issues. Dig into yourself a bit and try to find out why you get anxious come test-taking time.

There is no need to write the NCLEX after completing a RN-BSN degree, as the programs only accept RNs.

I would check your state universities. I got my BSN online and we had no testing. papers, projects, for advanced assessment, we had to videotape ourselves doing an intake assessment, I can't remember the exact details. We had group projects which required teamwork and time organization.

The only class I had tests in was Spanish. I live in NC and it was one of the University of NC system schools and a very well-regarded nursing program. You do not have to have tests to show mastery. I am in an MSN program and we don'y have tests either (sorry, had some in statistics) Higher order thinking is not tests according to Blooms. Being able to synthesize material is the goal.

I'm almost done with the RN to BSN program at Grand Canyon University...never took a test or quiz; just papers, powerpoints, group projects and discussion posts.

Are you doing an MSN program in NC? I'm in NC as well and have been looking at programs. Not necessarily looking for one without tests I'm just overwhelmed with the choices! Lol

You need to work on the mental issue before you try to work on the scholastic issue. I know of no accredditerd nursing shool that would provide what you seem to think is acceptable. I do not want a nurse taking care of me who attended school under the conditions you seek.
