Has ordered a blood test online? I need a varicella titer and have called around trying to find a place to get it done. Most places will do it with a physicians order. I no longer have insurance and am on a budget. I saw that you can order the test online then go to the local lab its affiliated with to get the blood drawn and the results will be emailed to you. There are several sites that do this and the cost ranges from $42-$50. Has anyone done this before? What are you thoughts? The more I looked into it the more I think its something I will do, but I have doubts. Thanks!

I've never heard of that.
I don't have insurance either. I went to a clinic at Kroger and the NP wrote me a note to have the titer done. My varicella titer cost $100.

If your school has a clinic you should probably check there prices out. They are usually a reasonable amount and you don't always need health insurance.

I recently used econolabs.com for all my titers. No prescription required and got results in a few days. Don't know about varicella specifically but varicella+ MMR+hep B was $197. I did a lot of online shopping and this was the cheapest I found.
(If you're also looking for a PPD, the CVS minute clinic did mine for $27)

I went to a Dr's Walk-In clinic. My titer was $30 and I had results back in 3 days.

If all you need is the varicella titre you might as well just get the shot again. JMO
The shot is like $120, per dose, 2 doses needed = $240.

Can you go to your university health service? They're usually cheaper, mine was $23. Or maybe the health department?
Just an update I decided to go ahead and order my test online. I used privatemdlabs.com it was $49.49, but i found a coupon code for 15% off (XB49W8) and the total came to $42.07. I went to the lab today and got my blood drawn and I should get the results in a couple of days.
my school is pretty far away and my health department does not do them. Overall, i'm happy with my decision. I feel like I saved money.
