hi everybody!! i'm trying to get pre-reqs for nursing school and i'm signing up for a &p for the next semester. my problem is that it isn't offered as a nighttime class this semester( it was last semester....whats up with that!!!) but it is offered as a online class. i really want to get started on my a&p credits but i'm not sure if taking it online is such a good idea, plus i don't know how the lab would work out on that. i'm new to school after nearly 20 years out, any suggestions? has anyone else taken a&p online?

hmmm. i didn't take a&p online but i have read some replies on this same subject.
i heard some people say that they actually had "virtual" labs.
i also heard other students say that their school sent the materials for lab to their house.
a&p is a pretty intense course and being that you have been out of school for so long, maybe a classroom setting is where you should start. i know you said that daytime schooling isn't an option for you but is there any other pre-reqs you could take (like maybe chemistry for instance?) this semester and then take a&p when the schedule works for you?
if you do decide to take this course online, don't overwhelem yourself with other classes if you aren't feeling too sure about the online a&p course. it's doable and you can do it if you put the time into it!
goodluck in whatever you decide!

Make sure your specific nursing program excepts the online course first.
Some nursing programs will not accept an online A & P program.
Good luck

I took both semesters online and thought it was great. A&PII required some on-campus time so take that into consideration. But it was good and I'm taking patho now with no problem (okay, maybe the case studies stump me :wink2:).
I don't know anything about whether schools will accept it or not, but I would check that out ahead of time.
Thanks for the input everybody. I think I'm going to contact the other schools in my area and see what they offer of an evening. I got so focused on my current school that I never even thought about the others.
