One thing I have learned

Is that I LOVE teaching! Not like in a classroom type teaching, but teaching my patient's and teaching the students on the floor! I don't know if it's because I know my preceptor is there to correct me if I am wrong or what, but I am having a good time. Almost every one of my precepting days we have had other students doing their clinical, and I have gotten to teach them things! I have taught them how to do straight caths and Foleys, how to set up the sterile field for delivery (not the OR one, the room one), how to get a patient prepped in the OR for a c-section. Plus all the teaching I have done for my patients. Its awesome to see the little light bulbs go on!

That's great!! It's an amazing way to reinforce the skills you have and teaching someone else under an instructor watch helps build confidence I would think. I hope I get an opportunity to do that as well.

That is great for confidence (which is sometimes tested in nursing school, that you don't feel like your doing it right). Congrats on finding something you love in a hectic time :)

Great. All nurses are teachers, but there is a great variance in capability. Consider getting certified as AHA course instructor at some point.

Teaching someone else is the BEST way to learn for some. I know it is for me!!!
