To those of you have already completed the pre req's and co-req's the next application meeting is the week of AUG 18 at the new campus @ 5:30p
We are supposed to bring documentation to the meeting (stated on the criteria), Don't forget to have your essay "Why I want to be a Nurse" and "How you forsee nursing in the future".
After the application process, what happens??????
Just curious, i want to take additional classes but don't want a conflict of schedule.
Thanks,

After the application meeting you do nothing but wait until you get a letter in the mail letting you know if your in or not. Are you applying for January admissions? If so you will have enough time to take classes for the fall semester. Good Luck
How long after the application meeting does it take to receive the in/out letter? What should i expect to do after if i have received the approval? Thanks for all the input...

I believe you are trying for January? If so, you will hear something in the beginning of November.
Best wishes to you!

Hi, All of the next "to do's" will be in the letter you're waiting for. Physical exam, titers/vaccinations (hep B), CPR certification--but you actually have the 1st 7.5 wks to get all that completed so you really don't have to do anything until after the orientation/lottery.
Good Luck! Let us know what the new campus is like.

I am currently attending micro and math. Then the only class i will have left is the medical math (which i was going to register for in Sept.) I am thinking to also register for allied health and a computer class.
What is the "lottery". It has been floating that only 125 are picked based on your gpa and net scores. I don't think that seems fair because what happens if you have a 3.6 + and you are not picked, then you have waisted time waiting for nothing. I am a pretty positive person but reluctant to allow my hard work and time be put on hold until someone decides my future.

When Auntnana said lottery she was referring to the lottery for class selection. Basically, everyone who was accepted into the program and a few alternatives come to the NW auditorium and your name is put into a bucket. They pick out names one at a time for you to come up and select your classes. The earlier you are picked the better class selection, the later you are picked the worse class selection.
The way that they pick students for the program is based solely on your GPA in the 5 prereqs or if you have completed any of your coreq's they will include those grades into your GPA if it raises it. The NET scores are used only as a TIE BREAKER...although you still need the minimum passing score to be accepted to the program. If you have a 3.6 GPA I would say you have a pretty good chance of getting accepted. I believe I heard the lowest GPA to be accepted this last semester was a 3.4??? Feel free to correct me if I am wrong, because I am not absolutely certain.
I hope this helps you a bit to understand the process. I hear that their program is awesome and you will graduate feeling very prepared to take your NCLEX. It is tough but good!
Good Luck!

Sharazed- did you attend the mandatory information meeting? Most of these questions are addressed there.
Also...I don't know if your intentions are to get some of your BSN classes done or if you just like to take extra classes, but I would only take the ones you need for the program right now. If you get in, you will be really busy with classes. You should get a break now while you can.

Have completed all the pre-req's and finishing this semester with the last of the co-req's as well. Then the only class i have to complete is the medical math. That is why i was thinking to take the math and maybe allied health while i am waiting for my results from the NET. Are you already in the program? What do you mean by BSN classes?
I understand where you are in your classes. But you can go to the information meeting before you are finished with your pre-reqs.
I was asking if you are trying to take classes to use toward furthering your degree after WCCCD's adn program.
Yes. I am am half way done with the Nursing program.
I really think you would benefit from going to an information meeting. When are you taking your NET?
