To those of you have already completed the pre req's and co-req's the next application meeting is the week of AUG 18 at the new campus @ 5:30p
We are supposed to bring documentation to the meeting (stated on the criteria), Don't forget to have your essay "Why I want to be a Nurse" and "How you forsee nursing in the future".
After the application process, what happens??????
Just curious, i want to take additional classes but don't want a conflict of schedule.
Thanks,

I believe the NET is required for Medical Math, so if you're taking the test in August and registering for Med Math in the fall, you should be set.
The department does not place heavy focus on your NET scores (assuming you have a high GPA) unless you are tied with other applicants. That's when they'll really focus on your NET and sub-core classes.
Hope this helps

:yeah:The classes that i plan on taking will in the future progress towards the PA program. I plan on taking the NET the week of Aug 18. The next semester i have planed on taking the medical math and allied health. I am planning on going to the next information meeting, have to find out the date first...I was told i needed to take the NET before going to the application meeting. Thanks for the information.
Went to the information meeting last night. I am planning on taking the NET at HFCC as soon as i study the math. Need major boosting in algebra.

Thanks Teresa
All the info really helps out. Serenity figured out my gpa as 3.4 or something like that. Now i need to focus on improving my math. I am still going to take the net in Aug. but i will take it at HFCC so i can get my results right away. Hopefully i will have everything i need done to meet the Sept. deadline for the Jan. classes.
Good luck with the math portion of the NET. If you happened to read a previous post of mine, I hadn't taken ANY sort of math course since 1989 and I was a Logistics Engineer and ISO Internal Auditor...so I can tell you that it didn't have anything to do with nursing, science or general algebra.
After much stress, I came to the conclusion that if it's meant to be I'll pass. If not, I'll step up to the plate and study like mad and re-take it.
It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be!
You may be happily surprised like I was.

Are we talking about math! It doesn't compute in my brain it seems like its chinese or something. I am taking a math 100 class right now to help me out. Hope i remember it when it comes to taking the NET.
I cringe over math like my boys do over shots/injections. I'd rather get my toenails pulled out.
I was nervous about the fractions and algebra. I thought that the NET (at least the test version that I was given) was going to include a lot of those variations, but it only had ten or so.
Remember that the WCCCD library has the NET preparation book. I couldn't see paying $35 for it - many friends made copies of the stuff they needed to review.
Did you say you're planning to take it at HFCC?

Ya at HFCC i would rather do the test get the results and delete any anxiety and stress immediately so that i can stress over something else:chuckle
For the recommendation letters who do i have my peps make it out to?
I didn't ask at the meeting.

I know exactly what you mean.
I was told they should be made out to To Whom It May Concern, WCCCD Nursing Department, or any one person of the department that you've gained some level of personal acquaintance.
Hope this helps?

Wow that's what i talked to Carol about today she said just To Who it may Concern. The Application meeting in Aug she isn't sure where it will be it may be at the new campus or old they haven't told her yet. She said to call back in Aug to find out. Are you at the NW campus? new or old. I was thinking next week to go exploring it i haven't been there yet.

You do not have to take the NET before going to the Information Meeting.
