is it ok if i write on somebody else's nursing notes and then she/he would sign it?

okay... i know it's a stupid question but a friend of mine lags when she writes on her nursing notes.... so what we did is i wrote on her nurse's note and then she would sign it at the end. i would copy exactly what she wrote on the 24 hour report. i know it's bad. but the important thing is her signature, right?! :redbeathe

legally i know it looks bad but is it okay? can we get away with it? thanks thanks!

I've done transcription many times for clinic RNs.

There is a distinct difference between typically transcribed notes done in the course of business, properly noted as being transcribed, and what the OP described in her post. It appears the OP would have a little difficulty being able to understand the difference at this point.

What do you mean she "lags"? Is that because she takes too long to get around to it, or that she isn't good at it? And if you are copying exactly what SHE wrote on the 24 hour report, why can't she do it herself? I'm confused with that.

i just had a thought, why dont YOU copy her nurses note for the 24 hour log? same time savings....

Why isn't she getting her work done when you have enough time to do yours and finish hers? Does this happen a lot or was it a one time thing?
