Congratulations !!!!! That is such a wonderful story!

Hi! I start in the fall too (evening and weekend program) for my ADN... I'm on the edge of my seat waiting. We had one orientation last month to pick our classes. Also, got the information needed for the complete physicals and medical stuff needed for clinical clearance and I'm signed up to take CPR certification at my local hospital in May (luckily it's a two year certification so it should carry me at least through NS). This month will be our "official" orientation with uniform fittings and discussion on what the programs going entail (I'm sure it'll put the fear of God in some of us... like me, lol!) and all our books, work expected, clinical info, etc. It's becoming more "real" as the months go on. I so look forward to starting and to reading everyone's experiences on here.

Right now, I'm taking all of my co-requisites for the program. I have Physiology this semester... it's killing me... I hope I can pass it this semester (not looking very promising right now -- first time I'd ever have to repeat a course... I really want to get it over with!! Our tests are just so hard!) if not I'll be taking the 6 wk condensed version Summer II. Summer I, I'm taking Abnormal Psychology and then I'll have fullfilled all the pre-requisites!

Congrats and good luck to everyone :)!

 I am too! I had the biggest blessing happen to me I tell ya! I was originally not accepted when the batch of letters were sent out. That was the day before spring break too! So I spent that and the next 2 weeks trying to decide what to do. Apply elsewhere, or stay where I am and try to reapply for fall of 2010. So on 4/1 I had a meeting with my adviser, as I wondered about my odds of getting in next year and her advise on taking a minor maybe to kill my year, as I pretty much have all my needed course's, (am taking last 2 pre-req's over summer)Anyway, she informs me there had been a department error, and I would get this letter (that she hands me) in the mail probably tomorrow. And........it said.........CONGRATULATION'S! Yeah! I was shocked stupid! So I sat here crying like a bafoon! And this is he first time I met her mind you! So to make a long story short, I'm here to say, or shout rather "I!!!!!!!":yeah::nurse::yeah:**I'm going to Suny Brockport's BSN program in Rochester, New York.

Congratulations!! That is a wonderful story!

That is awesome!!!!! I got offered an alternate/ alternate spot this spring semester, I was so scared to make the right choice and in the end I declined. I had planned everything to start in the fall and was signed up to take my Patho and Nutrition for the spring to get them out of the way. Had no childcare lined up or student loans or anything, I guess with the economy they expected a higher number of people to defer. If you got accepted you might not know until the first day of class. So I declined hoping nothing would happen with me getting in the fall. If I was getting that position I was sure I would still have my spot. It was still scary though, the nursing admissions lady thanked me for putting a lot of consideration into it. It all worked out in the end. Anyway, that is an awesome story and very happy you made it in.

I am SUPER EXCITED to say that I have finally been accepted~after two LOOOONG years. I was accepted into Western Kentucky University's ADN program (program of choice). Congratulations to everyone~we can all relate to the hoops we have had to jump to get to this point. :yeah:

I start @ end of August too - excited, nervous, grateful.

Congrats, everyone!

Are we going to have a new thread then, or use this one to check in with each other?

MEEE!! Got the acceptance letter last week. I'm super excited!

:offtopic:Congrats to all! This is so cool--the last 2 posters share a name and a nickname with my daughter. Steph was known as Sparky in high school thanks to a close call with a lightning strike in our back yard. The storm came in so fast, and it had just started to rain when the tree she was feet away from was struck. I heard a bang and a scream. The TV (and several outlets, I found out later) went out, and my heart all but stopped! She was thrown to the ground, badly shaken up, but not hurt (apart from banging her knee when she fell). Wow! I still get chills thinking about it, and it was about three years ago. She was very proud of her nickname though--made for a "cool" story to tell her friends.

Good luck to one and all of us.

I recieved my acceptance letter on Saturday....I am very happy to say I will be starting Nursing School late August 09

When we all start we should start a new thread in the Nursing Student forum since we will no longer be Pre Nursing :D
