  1. Try the Medical Institue of Kentucky. It's in Hamburg. That's where I got my CNA and they are awesome and nice.
  2. ponytail for me. Mine is not long enough to do anything else really.
  3. We just had our orientation yesterday (wow was that overwhelming). Classes officially start Monday, the 24th. I'm super nervous. Now just to get get books tomorrow and start reading so I can stay on top of things. Good Luck EVERYONE!!
  4. UK does the same thing...you committ to so many years and they pay some of your tuition money back AND you get paid to work.
  5. I thought the exam was relatively easy. There are 5 skills ( you have to pass the critical points-the starred ones on the list). You also have a written test. You have to get 70% on it to pass. The questions are pretty common sense really.
  6. thanks, i'll check into it and see what i need to do!
  7. I am going to be working PRN (pretty much whenever I can) for the hosptial I work for now. Sure, I won't have insurance or benefits like that, but at least I'll have a job.
  8. thanks. i am going to call our unemployment office now!! it's in another town but I will definately check it out. I am working right now, but will have to pretty much quit and work PRN once I start school. Does it matter now that I am working or should I wait until I quit.
  9. WIA?? Just curious what is that?? It might be something I might qualify for. Single Mom trying to go to school and make it here!!
  10. congrats to you! I hope you do really well.
  11. Right now I work at a hosptial that pays for 6 hours of schooling per semester. I do not need any prereq's so that leaves me only taking the nursing courses which range from 7 hours fall and spring semester the first year to 11 hours the next. I will only have to pay out of pocket for 1 hour this coming year and I guess save what I can for the next years as well as use student loans as a back up if I need to.
  12. MEEE!! Got the acceptance letter last week. I'm super excited!
  13. I just finished mine and it was 4 weeks from start to finish. Thank goodness because I couldn't have handled it any longer!!
  14. Just finished my CNA course last night thank goodness!! I did well. I know I passed the course. Just need to take my state exam (which I'm super nervous about) sometime soon. My instructor was great, even though she was my sister! I do no have any jobs lined up because I will make less if I take a CNA job than what I am making right now working at the hosptial I am at. I am just going to hang out and do my current job and maybe work PRN at a staffing agency that my sister works for as a RN because they generally pay more for PRN people just so that I can keep my license once I get it. I have to have my CNA license for nursing school in the fall so it wasn't a waste of time or anything! Glad I got it over with though.
  15. You can get a form filled out and they have to accomidate you. I am going through that process right now to get my form filled out. I too can not hear a thing out of the dual and HAVE to use mine otherwise I do not hear a thing.
