Ok Class of 2017, Where are you??

Published

Hello my fellow nursing students. I will be starting my nursing classes on July 6. That's only 12 days from now! :nailbiting: I'm both excited and nervous. We had our first orientation yesterday, well it was more like a meet and greet. I have been on YouTube all day looking at videos on nursing school supplies. So I will be starting my school shopping this week. When did you get your school supply list? I was hoping to get mine at orientation, but nope no list! I hope that we can keep each other encouraged through the process. Congratulations to everyone who got accepted into the program.

I graduated last night! :) Feels kind of surreal. Now onto applying and hopefully getting my ATT for NCLEX soon!

Congratulations! Best wishes to you in your career :D.

All done here, and I'm also waiting for my ATT.

So proud of everyone :').

So I passed my first semester of nursing school and second semester begins the 18th. I'm so excited and ready to kick some medsurg butt!!!

I'm done!!! Last Tuesday was my pinning ceremony and it hasn't even quite sunk in yet. Ordered my books go start preparing for nclex. I'll be applying to test soon. Already looking for BSN and MSN programs.

Congrats! Do you know about how long it takes to get your ATT where you're from? I've heard from my other classmates that previous graduates didn't get theirs until the end of June. I definitely have time to study, but I'm anxious to get it scheduled and take it!

Congrats! I don't feel like it's sunk in yet and it's been almost 3 weeks. What books are you using to prepare for NCLEX? Right now I'm just using UWolrd and the ATI book we received during our live review.

That's exciting about the BSN and MSN programs! I'd like to start looking, but I'm going to wait a little bit. We have to sign a contract upon hire that we'll get our BSN within 5 years from the date of hire. I don't plan waiting that long - I'm thinking a year. My son was born during my first semester, so I missed a lot of his firsts, plus the extra weight on my husband's shoulders. I'm having my 3rd at the end of August, and I really want to have time to adjust to working, watching my baby's first year, spending as much time as possible with my kids. I'm hoping I'll find a job quickly enough and will have settled in within a year, and hopefully making work and school more manageable.

Are you looking for online only (or mostly) or a brick and mortar school?

Thank you! It took 4 days from graduation to receive my ATT (this morning!), and I am now slated to take the test in mid-June. There were dates as early as this weekend, but I would feel more comfortable taking some time to review some of my weaker areas.

I'm just looking for a program that's going to be able to work with a working nurse schedule. Good luck with everything, we made it!!!!
