OHSU ABSN 2019-2020

Hi all! Is anyone an applicant for the ABSN program for the 2019-2020 cohort for OHSU? It's such a competitive program and I'd love to share insights and chat with anyone else going for it this year. As you might be able to tell, I'm applying for the nurse-midwifery program. My stats aren't that great but I'm going to cross my fingers and hopefully learn from the experience ?

I'm pretty sure they said decisions could come out as early as today, but it's more likely that they'll come out early next week!

I hope they come out today! I don't want to wait the whole weekend to hear...but my group was told the admissions crew was "meeting on Friday", and so we would "probably hear Monday". But if they're meeting today, we may be lucky enough to hear today!

Yeah, I’m pretty sure for ABSN Portland they said they’d be meeting today to decide and decisions would go out Monday or Tuesday.

Any of the Portland ABSN applicants have any advice or tips for the interview process? I have an interview for the Ashland ABSN next Saturday and I am nervously excited! For ladies - what did you wear? I have been shopping all over town trying to find the perfect interview attire.

Most of the people in my group were wearing a blazer with button-down shirt and dress pants or dress skirt. On the OHSU tips for interview page I found it they suggested dressing professional in neutral colors with minimal make up/ jewelry. But I was right there with you, I obsessed about what to wear! LOL. Good luck!

Cool! I’m planning on wearing a black blazer with a black dress skirt so sounds like I’m on the right track - thank you!

Anyone know how many applicants are interviewed and how many are usually accepted for Ashland?

I called the admissions office and they said that around 150 applied and they gave 60 interview invites for 32 spots so that's about a 50% chance of getting in after the interview! Best of luck! Looking forward to meeting everyone this time next week!
