OHSU ABSN 2018-2019

Published

Hey all!

Now that the application deadline has passed, I feel comfortable finally starting a post. Just curious to hear who else applied to this program. It's fascinating to me to hear about people's different experiences, stats, expectations, etc. I'm also wondering what other programs people might've applied to? I got my submission in for the Portland ABSN to FNP/DNP program as well.

Best of luck to everyone! Looking forward to hearing your thoughts and perspectives.

That being said, I can't stop coming back to this thread. Best of luck to everyone.

I know what you mean. After not getting into one but program, I'm just sitting here obsessing over interviews for this one. Good luck to you too.

Specializes in ICU.

Check your emails. I just got an invite to interview! However, I'm not sure if I'll attend it because I've been accepted to several schools in California that are slightly more expensive than OHSU. I don't know if the slightly cheaper tuition is worth it for me to move to Oregon. Decisions, decisions.

I honestly can't even believe it, but I just got an interview invitation for March 1st! So best of luck to everyone and we at least have confirmation they're sending out emails!

Got my interview email today! hopefully 2nd times the charm! (well 4th time applying)

March 2

Is having a first round interview a good sign of acceptance into the program?

Last year they had 135 interviewees for 64 spots. So kinda sorta. You have a 47% chance of being accepted

Does anyone know how they choose people for the summer vs fall cohort?

Haven't gotten any email yet!

I wonder if they do them in waves. Getting nervous.

Same! I assume they do them in waves since they said "by Tuesday".

Where did you get these stats from, out of curiosity? I've been trying to remember them for my informational all day and have not been able to for the life of me. Only thing I'm confused about/not sure is correct here is the 64 people - didn't they have 32 Portland spots and 32 Ashland spots, not 64 total in Portland? I'd obviously like it better if there were 64 in Portland, but I didn't think it was that high.

Seemed like they were doing the ABSN-MSN/DNP ones in waves, so I'd assume this would be the same. I could be in correct though.
