I'm excited to be interviewing for this program this week. Wish I could fly up there myself to visit the town, but I'm grateful they'll let us handle the interview over the phone. Hoping I make the cut, and looking forward to meeting more folks in the program here!

Hello all, I am applying to Accelerated BSN to masters in psych. I have an interview tomorrow. There seems to be a lack of information on the program's site. Do we all start in June for summer accelerated bsn? It seems late to notify us considering the program starts in June?

Thanks BendOregon. Did you apply elsewhere for psych NP. I recognize your name. Anyhow, I feel like I know nothing about the OHSU program compared to other accelerated PMHNP programs such as UCSF or Vanderbilt. I got into UCSF and Columbia but I'm choosing UCSF over Columbia simply because it seems overwhelming to move myself to NYC by May start date. Plus I live in the Bay Area… Does anyone have info on the program, the feeling, what makes OHSU different or stand out? I mean, Portland seems like an incredible city and I'm excited to check it out tomorrow when I interview. I just wish there was any kind of information session with the interview…

TtotheAna, congrats! It looks like I'll be joining you! Found out over the phone, too..... and I'm so, so excited. We've never visited that part of the country, so it's going to be an adventure this next couple months figuring out where we want to live and getting ourselves and our cats up there.

Congratulations TtotheAna! I haven't heard anything from OHSU. Honestly I didn't get a great feeling from the interview, like maybe it wasn't a good fit for me. They weren't very warm or responsive. I'm deciding between UCSF Vandy and Columbia but Portland seems like such an easy comfortable place to live. Anyone else choosing or hear from OHSU?

I heard from OHSU but only because I called and told them my story about getting married in two weeks - they took pity on me. :) I needed some sort of answer so I could stop stressing! I'm a 'high candidate' on the waiting list - not sure what that means but it's an answer so I can move on. This was my second year applying and first time on the waiting list so maybe next year will be the one. :)

Urinegoodhands, sorry to hear about the wait list. I got my rejection letter today. I seriously bombed the interview lol. I think I was just so happy about UCSF and thinking it would be easy and it was NOT. Anyhow. Good luck to you, I hope you have a great wedding and find a school that suits you best! I will be hoping you get a call from OHSU to attend! Congrats to Snowingonraton. See you all in the field someday!
