  1. Okay... one more link. :) Here's another conversation in Allnurses: https://allnurses.com/advanced-practice-nursing/pmhnp-practice-state-907404.html
  2. Hopefully this helps: http://www.apna.org/i4a/pages/index.cfm?pageid=3292
  3. Campus based. I think you'd be hard pressed to find it online.
  4. In Oregon psych np is def the way to go. I worked with a psychiatrist who said these days in OR the PMHNP can do what a psychiatrist can do and she would go that route instead of taking on the debt of med school. It just depends on your state though.
  5. I'm starting that track at OHSU this summer. It's a one year accelerated program for your BSN with direct entry into the PMHNP program and an option to keep going for your Doctorate. My background is in social work so it's a somewhat similar switch. :) I chose this because of the wholesome approach to mental health... It seems silly not to consider the whole body right?? :) Good luck!
  6. I don't know how to send the link but if you search OHSU School of Nursing New Students (2014) - you should be able to find it and request to join.
  7. Well the way they did the nursing group is generic anyways and they recommend each group branching off and making their own FB group. I know there's a way for you to start a group for the people in the Ashland cohort with you... I'm not exactly sure how to do it but there's a way! I know that much. :)
  8. Oh wow! When do you guys start?
  9. There's also a Facebook group you guys should have gotten a link to.... Did you get that?
  10. Aww man! Bummer! Well I'm in the Summer cohort so I'm no help.
  11. Are you sure you need an actual genetics class? The genetics portion of my Cell Bio class covered the genetics requirement.
  12. I heard from OHSU but only because I called and told them my story about getting married in two weeks - they took pity on me. :) I needed some sort of answer so I could stop stressing! I'm a 'high candidate' on the waiting list - not sure what that means but it's an answer so I can move on. This was my second year applying and first time on the waiting list so maybe next year will be the one. :) Sounds like you have some great options MentalHealthAdvocate! Either choice will be an excellent education! Good luck!
  13. Portland Women's Crisis Line is the equivalent here. It's fabulous and an amazing experience.
  14. You can find some good places for that in Portland. Portland is difficult to figure out until you come see the neighborhoods - then it makes more sense. Where are you coming from?
  15. Thanks! :) the kidney is pretty much THE coolest organ!
