I went through the application process last year and got an offer of admission that I was not able to accept (long story). I will likely be reapplying this year. My own personal opinion is that the entire admissions process from start to finish is first-rate. Communication between admissions staff and applicants is very open and respectful. If the program is run half as well as the admissions office, then students are in for a great educational experience.

I recently scored 94% individual adjusted total score. Highest subtest score was in mathematics (100%), lowest subtest scores were in science (91.7%) and in the English language and usage (90%). I purchased the Teas study packet from ATI. I found the online practice tests to be helpful and much harder than the actual test. My practice test scores were in the low 80's. After I took the first online practice assessment I used the Official Study Guide exclusively to study. I concentrated on the areas where the online test showed weakness (science and English language, go figure). I really don't recommend going into the exam "cold." As this forum shows, some people will score well using this strategy. I just don't think that represents how most of us will do. The study guide is a good resource. There was not a single question on the exam that wasn't covered in some way in the Study Guide.

The program has a June start date.

I'm sure everyone got the same email I got, saying decisions would be "in March." I found it troubling that the email said people who were not selected for an interview would not be contacted. Why not? It seems to me to be common courtesy to notify people who may be putting their lives on hold as soon as it's apparent that they're out of the running. But then again, no one asked me.

I don't think anybody knows when interview invitations will go out. Given that the program is a summer start I would hope sooner rather than later so that they can get admission decisions made before April. I felt like I was a strong candidate until NursingCAS got finished with my GPA and told me that my graduate degree wasn't really a degree. (Long story). Needless to say I am frustrated with the process. I hope now that applications are in things will go a little more smoothly.

A few months ago I did a telephone advising session with the director of admissions and she said that last year they had about 50 applications for the psyche program, conducted 32 interviews, and ultimately enrolled 18 students. I'd assume these numbers will roughly hold true for this year.

Thanks for the advice. A business suit was what I was thinking but I wanted to see what others thought. I'm an applicant to the psych/mental health track (as I'm guessing you are). My interview is on the 31st and I'm making the long trek from the west coast to be there in person.

Here's what may seem to many to be a rather basic, stupid question: What does one wear to a nursing school interview? Business attire? Tuxedo? I'm lost. Anyone have any advice for a lost and clueless guy (notwithstanding the avatar)?
