Since it seems that there's quite a bit of interest, I'm attempting to start a new thread devoted exclusively to the OU on-line RN-BSN program that will hopefully build on the comments on assorted previous threads.
I'd like to ask nevergonnagiveup, mtsteelhorse and babynurse73 - all of whom (I think) are either already in the program or have applied for admission - to post about their experiences. I just sent in my application and plan to post periodically about relevant issues. If we can populate the thread with good material, it could become a very useful resource for both those considering the OU program and students already in it. Once that happens, I'd hope we could prevail upon the forum moderators to make it a sticky thread.
As indicated, I've only recently applied to the program. So far, I'm happy with the support and information I've gotten. I've been contacted by an OU "enrollment specialist" who was somewhat helpful (I suspect that they have dual roles, one being to provide basic information to prospective students and the other to follow-up with the prospects and help to fill the roster for the program). This person e-mailed me, followed up with a phone call and was able to provide some useful, if basic, information about the program. I also sent a lengthy e-mail to OU with quite a number of specific, detailed questions. This too resulted in both an e-mail and telephone response, this time from an academic advisor in the OU School of Nursing. Again I received some useful and quite helpful information. All in all, my early experience has been pretty positive.
As indicated above, I plan to post about relevant issues that come up as I work my way through the admission and evaluation process. I'd very much like to hear from others about their experience with OU and I'm sure that there will be a lot of interest by others in our collective experience with the program.
That productivity paper made me crazy - but it wasn't as bad as I originally thought it would be. Not sure I answered as the TA wanted - especially in terms of why high productivity was essential - I used reimbursement issues and lack of reimbursement from CMS for hospital acquired conditions. It's written but my a-retentivenessrequires that I let it sit for a day or so and take a look at it again!
LOL....My a-retentiveness....I love it.
This strategic planning will be like management? Would be nice if they correlated.
Got an email back from DARS inquiry finally - she said it is still not done, but in looking over my transcripts, it looks like JR comp and stats is all the extras I will need YEEEHAAA!!
That is certainly good news! My only non-nursing class is the jr comp. Is your MyOHIO down? I haven't been able to check email or sign in there for a couple of days.

Take Lassiter for Stats if possible. Have Penrod for Business. She has already contacted students with pertinent information. I love instructors that realize we have busy lives and help you prepare early.
So I have been MIA for a while. So far I am really enjoying my first class. No problems with the software of assignments. On the other hand I am really frustrated with all of the information from sooo many different sources re the program. It all basically says the same thing, but there may be a little new info included that seems to get lost in with all the old infornation. Currently not able to register for next session and have spent over an hour going through all of my e-mails and messages and pouring over the website with no luck finding what I need. I sent an e-mail and I hope it was to the right place. No answer at the school of nursing. I know I have seen the information I need somewhere but I can't seem to find it now. Hoping for a quick reply.
On a side note chuckster... was not able to reply to your message thru AN and sent you a PM, wondering if you recieved it? Would have been at the begining of this session.
Has anyone gotten financial aid for the RN-BSN program through OU?
If so, when in comparison to applying and filling out your FAFSA did you get your award letter?
I applied and had everything in May, including my FAFSA.
I got my acceptance into the first fall start date 2 days ago...yes 2 days ago.
I'm just wondering when/if I should expect an award letter or any financial aid.
My work offers tuition reimbursement, but I obviously need a way to pay for it now.
Thanks in advance
