Anyone taking Community Health online with OU RN to BSN program that starts 2/18/13? Would like to start a thread for support. Have used this site in past and appreciated having others to share / support.

Is anyone having trouble with Blackboard?
I haven't been able to get into Blackboard for the past couple hours. It won't even let me log in, as in it's not accepting my log in info.
Just noticed this on the Blackboard log in page:

For the week 1 community project--when you looked up the stats for county, state and nation did you just put the website in the box or did you APA reference it? If you put the website, did you reference it at the end of the assignment in APA format in references? Just curious.
I put the website in the box provided. I did not reference it at the end of the assignment. The only things I referenced at the end were citations I used in my paragraphs.

Same here, I just referenced the websites I used in my analysis section. The box were expanded to the max with the web addresses lol
Well that's what I did too like the directions said-use the website and I lost more points on this assignment than I did for my entire last class (family) just for that. Yikes! I still don't have a grade for my discussion. Several in my section have no grades yet. Between this and Evidence I'm about to lose my mind--or what's left of it.

Ugh...I got the worst grade EVER in this community stat assignment. It wasn't a difficult assignment but I forgot to include something, and that was my fault, however, I don't feel I deserved to have that amount of points taken off. Going to be a rough 5 weeks.

They are grading tough!! I am afraid to turn anything in. Missed points on DB and Stat assignment. For windshield are you just listing what you see. Not sure how to write 5 sentences in each section. Stressed!

Hey...I don't ever remember citing a website in my references when I took this class last year. They are being rough. Sheesh! Again no consistency across TA's.
Blecch.
Go out at midnight in a blinding snowstorm on a country road and write exactly what you see;-). I have no clue what I'm doing either. The video just confused me more

Give a lot of detail. Like " on a country road there were 4 billboards for Dairy Barn. I saw a farmer with a green coat fixing fences..... stuff like that.
Or if in town, " 3 male youth, one with a black hoodie, another with a green hoodie and one with a blue coat. Each wearing blue jeans...." ridiculous stuff like that. Give huge amount of detail, even the color of the houses or what stores you pass by, anything. Write it as if a robot who sees every detail were recording it. Someone gave me that advice and that is what I did and got a good grade on it.
It was one of the most boring assignments, and repetitious. I seemed to write about the same stuff over and over, but that is what they want I guess.

I took this class and I agree with Cincinursemary on the windshield survey. Be descriptive as possible! I found the questions to be repetitive and therefore utilized my fluffing skills! Answering all of the questions ended up being a bit more time consuming than I thought it would be. Once you sit down to do it, it really isn't too bad. Good luck everyone!
