Hey-I was wondering if anyone was taking patho online at cscc for spring quarter? My physiology teacher said that it is real hard :uhoh3: and that I might be better off hooking up with a study pal that is taking the online class, too. If so, and your interested in having someone to compare notes, help with the work, study, tests, etc. Let me know!! Thanks~~;)

Hi There! What school does CSCC stand for? If it is Clark State Community College then I was wondering how you liked it there? I'm getting ready to transfer to there & was unsure about it. Sorry - I don't have an answer for you about patho though! Just wanted to find someone who was attending that college & see what they thought about it! Thanks!

hi, cscc is columbus state community college, thanks though.

I took pathophys on line at CSCC and it was a really cool class. I thought that the physiology class was much harder--but that said, they did warn us that it was hard to do online. I was fortunate to have a study buddy at work who was also in the class and it does help tremendously. There are a lot of facts to memorize. What was cool about this class is our instructor gave very good notes . I bought the text and then wished I had returned it before the deadline to get my full refund... I ended up returning it at end of qtr and not really reading it. It is good and full of info, but I preferred my course notes.

hey zena-what was the name of your professor?

I'll go home and try to find my notes tonight and see. I know I kept his lecture notes since I really felt they were thorough and I have actually referred back to them for info for some of my nursing classes.

OK, sorry it took me so long to get bcak with you. I kept forgetting to get the info when i was home....

My professor was Mike Squires

WOOHOO!!! That is who I have!! I just checked actually. Hopefully it won't be too bad for me-I just finished my physiology and got a B for the class, which isn't bad. I start my nursing classes when the quarter starts and while I have been looking forward to this day-as it gets closer-I am getting nervous!!! I try to tell myself to snap out of it :trout: but its hard. I hope that I learn to develop some confidence!!! Thanks!! Hey-another question-sorry-this may seem silly but what do you carry your stuff-stethoscope, hemostats, etc. in? I don't want to just throw it in my bookbag, but I don't want to carry the box....ya know? Any suggestions?? thanks!!

Oh-that being said-should I wait to but the text then, if he gives notes? My physiology professor gave great notes, and I ended up not using the book-its such a waste of money!!

if you got by without the book in Physiology, my bet is you'll do fine without it in Patho. I would definitely wait til you get your notes then decide. I know several people who did return the book, because they realized that the notes were so helpful they didnt need the book. Also, my trick was if the class didnt require actually doing homework from the specific book, and I had good lecture notes then I didnt get the text. Of course, if you have assignments from the text, then you need it. Also, the good news with Nursing there is you do have to get all the textbooks, and although they tend to be somewhat pricey-you will use those same books over and over in the program and at some point you really wont have to buy any more books. We needed like 2 books to start, then had several more for 2nd-3rd qtrs, then nothing til mental health 6th qtr, and no new books for 7th. SO overall it wasnt nearly as bad as I feared. And some of those you may choose to sell back as you go along -not a lot, basically I kept everything except the pharm, dosages and calculations, and maternity.

As far as a carrying bag, I have a little bag that I toss everything in(it originally held a small throw blanket in it-was a gift-had penguins on it, so I liked it). Some people do use their book bags for everything, some have almost briefcase sized bags. Basically anything you can fit it all in that is easy to carry and you like it, will be good. Most of the time you will go to clinical and toss it in some corner of a break room after removing what you want to load in your pockets for the day.

Thanks for all the info!!!!

Did anyone take anatomy online? If so, how do you think the difficulty of taking anatomy online compares to taking physiology or patho online?
