anyone taking patho online next quarter at cscc?

Hey-I was wondering if anyone was taking patho online at cscc for spring quarter? My physiology teacher said that it is real hard :uhoh3: and that I might be better off hooking up with a study pal that is taking the online class, too. If so, and your interested in having someone to compare notes, help with the work, study, tests, etc. Let me know!! Thanks~~;)

WOOHOO!!! That is who I have!! I just checked actually. Hopefully it won't be too bad for me-I just finished my physiology and got a B for the class, which isn't bad. I start my nursing classes when the quarter starts and while I have been looking forward to this day-as it gets closer-I am getting nervous!!! I try to tell myself to snap out of it :trout: but its hard. I hope that I learn to develop some confidence!!! Thanks!! Hey-another question-sorry-this may seem silly but what do you carry your stuff-stethoscope, hemostats, etc. in? I don't want to just throw it in my bookbag, but I don't want to carry the box....ya know? Any suggestions?? thanks!!

I just had Mike Squires LAST QUARTER as CSCC for patho - he even said not to take it online! We had 4 students who had to retake it from their online expierence. In my opinion there is no way you can do well with the online course. Yes, he gives great online notes and that will help you with the online lecture quizzes. But, I swear to you taking him on campus is the way to go! If you can't do it during the week I think Jan Herrmann is teaching it on Saturdays! I would have LOVED to take it with her as the instructor!!! Mike Squires is a really great guy, his lectures are kind of funny, but the online quizzes and the online case study quizzes are a BEAR! I worked my rear end off! Did well, but I really had to work for it.

Did anyone take anatomy online? If so, how do you think the difficulty of taking anatomy online compares to taking physiology or patho online?

I have had anatomy, physiology, and patho - ALL TEACHERS AGREE - don't take it online unless you really,really have to! I personally know to many people that take it online and either drop out, flunk out, or try to get into a class within the second week of class. Depends on what school you go to, but from CSCC stand point - please go to class.

Update!!! Well, its not so bad, actually. I have taken 3 quizes and done 2 case studies and quizes and I have aced them all. I have my first exam this week and my first nursing exam, but its not THAT bad, not as bad as people have made it out to be.........well, I quess I will se after this first exam!!!!!!!!:monkeydance:

I took anatomy, physiology, and patho online at CSCC. I had to study, but did well in all 3. I personally thought that physiology was the worst. But good thing is that in these classes you still go in for labs, so you can ask your lab instructor things and that is helpful.

Hi There! What school does CSCC stand for? If it is Clark State Community College then I was wondering how you liked it there? >>

I'll soon be 1 year at Clark State and have like it a lot! I much enjoy the smaller class sizes compared to some place like Sinclair. It's a drive for me, I live south of Dayton, but I take a lot of online courses too. I'm on the wait list for nursing and hope to have a spot in the fall of 08.

I took anatomy online fall quarter, flew through it, and loved it from start to finish. It really depends on what kind of learner you are. I was wondering how anatomy online compares to patho and physiology online. If I didn't have trouble with anatomy, how do you think I would fare with those other two classes? Or is a totally different ballgame?

If you're self-motivated and able to teach yourself, online classes are fine. Some people need to be able to hear the teacher speak as well as seeing visual things, like powerpoint or notes on the board to learn. Those types of learners definitely shouldn't take online classes.

Well, I took physiology off campus monday/wed nights last quarter and it was just going over notes that were handed out and doing labs. I liked it in that if I had q's they were answered, but looking back on it-I could had learned it myself with the notes. Patho is a lot of material to read and know-and case studies to do, but as long as you stay on top of it-you should do OK. So far so good for me-with all the other stuff I have to have done.
