Hi everyone,
I am a new graduate and recently just applied for my IP and to take the boards. The problem is, I live in DC (I will be workin in Ca in sept tho...) so I wasnt sure how to do the fingerprinting process since they do it different here in DC. So I just went to the police station and had them do it and I sent it in. Was this wrong? B/c I read another thread that said you needed two. OH NOOOO! Please help me...
PS: how long does the IP take (assuming that u have done everything right?) I've heard everything from 2 weeks to 4 months!!!!!

You need to send two sets in, and any police station will do. :)
Do you already have a job offer to begin in September? Depending on how long that your school takes to send in your transcripts will be the deciding factor to as how long that you will be waiting. For an out of state student, they require you to have the transcripts in to them before they will issue the IP.

Hi,
I graduated from NY. Before CABON processed and released my IP, I made sure that all my transcripts were already in CABON including my fingerprints. I went to a police station and had them do it then I submitted my fingerprints together with my application and fee. Then I went to my school registrar to give them the form that they need to submit with my transcripts. Once all the paper works were completed the CABON processed my application and within a month I received my IP in the mail and also thru my e-mail.
So what should I do now? should I send in another card? Everytime I call I get a busy signal (of course). OH noooooooooo....

In order to expedite things, I would send a duplicate application and 2 sets of finger prints. If you send one they could have trouble matching them up with the other set of one. Best of :) luck to you!
There is no reason to have to send in a duplicate application, that may cause more problems................CA requires two sets of fingerprints, one goes to FBI and thge other goes to the Dept of Justice.
Just make sure that your name and birthdate are on the back of the fingerprints, essentially the same info that went on the back of your photos.
That is all that you need. :)
When i received my application from CABON, they only sent me one hardcopy to get my fingerprints. That's what I took with me to the Police Station. I don't remember having 2 hardcopies of fingerprints. The Police Officer took fingerprints of borth my hands using that hardcopy form CABON. If in doubt, all you can do is keep calling CABON...Keep redialing until you get through or call first thing in the morning or 30 minutes prior to their closing. Good luck to you :)
lol...oh brother....I was supposed to write something on the back of my photos? MANNNN I'm in a world of trouble. You see the problem is, that I went to school out of state so no out here can guide me on what to do for the CA boards, they dont even have to get fingerprints! The website is not really clear and no one answers the phone! I don't want to have to send in another whole AP b/c I think they will try to get me to pay again. I'm thinking about just sending in the other set and putting my info on it...

Good idea...I will try first thing in the morning. I did not get my ap from the CABON, I just printed it online and sent that one in. I then went to get the cards from the same place I got the prints done and sent those in. I hope that wont be a problem too...thanks for ur help tho...
If you sent everything together in one envelope you should be okay, they would have added the info to the back of your photo. My best suggestion is just to phone them to verify if they need anything else, they will not let you know if they do. It is your responsibility to follow up. Before you do anything else, do this. Best time to reach them is 9 am CA time, I never have any trouble getting thru to them at that time.
And for furhter information for anyone applying anywhere: if you need to submit photos or anything else that doesn't already have your ID on it, make sure that you put it on the back of the item, especially pictures. They can easily get lost.
