Have not even looked at it, no reason for me to.
Lets put things into perspective at this time and use common sense the same way that I prepare people for the NCLEX exam.
In a given year, there are about 140,000 visas available under the EB-3 status. That is where RNs currently are placed. There is no Schedule A and it has not been available since the February Bulletin came out. And that is for the majority of those that wish to get a green card, including those that are under the H1-B visa and there are many that have been waiting several years for the green card.
There are probably that many alone from the Philippines that wish to work in the US and a majority of that number are RNs. More people than there are visas, and visas are also allotted based on birth country, it is not that one country gets all of them, far from that. So using the same common sense that you have used in preparing for the nursing exams, it means that there are many that are not going to be getting a wanted visa in the next year. And it is only going to get harder each year on, with more and more wishing to work in the US, and more and more in nursing school in PI expecting to be able to come to the US right away, it is going to be much worse. Facilities are also going to become much more selective in who that they hire.
And then add in that immigration was forced to accept the I-485 when there have not been visas available, so do not expect all of the visas that were to be released in October to be available.
There is no way that those from the Philippines will not be under the retrogression. Simple as that. And my predictions have been correct every time, even when some argued with me last month when I said that USCIS would change their deadline to July 31 for the I-140 at least, and I was correct on that one as well.
On average, the wait time has been about five years for those wishing to get a green card when they have not been RNs. Just because they have cleared up some petitions that were completed last year, that has nothing to do with any that have been submitted since then. Not even a drop in the bucket was dented. There are hundreds of thousands waiting now for the green card.
What happened in May was under the previous fiscal year, October is a new one. And there are many more added to the wait each month. Remember that the retrogression does not start until the person has approval of the I-140.

Hi suzanne4, I think what fruity and some of us here wants to know is that since we have PD of Nov-Dec 2005 and our cases were completed prior to retrogression last year but unfortunatell did not get an interview schedule when retrogression hit last October. Then last June we were asked to re submit our DS230 and our cases were completed again on July and waiting for interview schedule again.
What are our chances of getting an interview on October to December 2007? If the October VB will be 2001, does that mean that we have to wait again and go through the process of re submitting police clearances and DS 230 again? Sice people undergoing AOS under EB3 with October 2006 have already received their green cards, isn't it strange that Oct VB prediction will retrogress to 2001? Does this mean that people with PD of 2001 to October 2005 have not gotten their green cards yet? considering a VB of June 2005 that came out last June 2006?
We are aware that a lot of people want to go to the U.S., but we want to be specific on our cases since our cases have been completed by the NVC twice already.
The issue is that there is no longer a Schedule A and that is why the PD dates keep retrogressing back. And expect it to even more.
With a PD date of 2005, you have a chance of getting an interview when there are new visas released, but and a BIG But: we do not know what will exactly be available then, as well as which countries will still be under the retrogression. I am still predicting that the PIC countries, as well as Mexico for sure will still be under do to the number of applicants. And that is what will limit your chances of getting a visa this year even.
Not sure what to tell you at this point, only not to expect anything, and then if you get it, you will consider it a gift to you.
Please keep me posted on what happens for you.
Thanks suzanne4. Hopefully VB of October, Noemebr and December will be at least Dec 2005. We'll just have to pray harder.
Unfortunately, I would not hold my breath on that. There are just way too many that are waiting, even with PDs that far back. And if that far back, and not in the US already, it means that there were problems with your petition that was originally submitted. It did not get approved like it should have, or the visa bill did not get paid for sometime, for whatever reason.
There is a slight chance for some of you, but again there is no separate Schedule A for nurses and that is what is causing the biggest delay.

It may come close to that date. If we can track down PD's then we can somehow get a clear idea of what it may come out. We are under the country limit and it somehow affect us to be slower also. Our only hope is schedule A which as of now is not available. The date our PD become current will come, we just have to wait...
It just does not go by PD dates, but also when the file was actually completed in the first place. And then without the Schedule A, you are up against all that are in the US already under the H1-B visa and have been waiting several years to get the green card.

At the least, we can expect June 2005 for Philippines comes the October Visa Bulletin. We can only hope. Let's wait for the VB to come out rather than relying on speculations and predictions. If I were in your boat, I would take masteral degrees and get more experience so that I can apply using EB2, which at most times, is "current". Eb3 is getting difficult to get nowadays.
