October 2019 GN Residency: Texas Health Resources (THR)

I'm a summer 2019 BSN grad, I applied for the graduate nurse residency at Texas Health beginning in October 2019. Anybody else apply to this residency?

Hey, I also applied to Texas Health. I am a December graduate and recently moved to DFW area. I have not been able to find anything at all, even part-time because everyone requires experience. I would love to know which companies that have reached out to you. Thank you so much.

Hey guys, I had an interview with Texas Health ER at Alliance. I received an offer for employment yesterday. I believe they are moving forward with interviews and offers. Good luck everyone!

New grads are only hired into DFW hospitals via their internship/residency programs. Those happen a few times of year, depending on the institution and it is very competitive. Two year RNs generally have a difficult time securing these positions, as most DFW hospitals only hire in new BSNs. If you have a BSN, you will be more competitive, but it still won't be a gimme. There simply are not enough new grad positions for every new grad that wants one in acute care. Next to none of the local hospitals will hire a new grad directly to the floor.

Yes, I applied for the Arlington residency, have you heard anything back from your apps?

Just sent them my references and did the assessment. Haven’t heard anything since last week

I emailed the recruiter before the applications opened and she told me that interviews will be held August 19-23. so we should hear something a week or two before those dates
