OCCC Nursing Fall 2017

Published

Hi everyone!

I know this is a bit far away, but I am going to be applying to OCCC's traditional nursing program next fall. My preference points look like they will be right on the line of getting in. I wouldn't mind applying for the spring, but I want to get in as soon as I can lol. I was thinking about taking a CNA course to get that extra preference point. Does anyone know where I could go to get that done, and how much it costs/time it takes?

Thanks in advance!

I got my email today at 11:36am. I got in!

Congrats y'all. I didn't receive an email yet but I left a message with someone in admissions.

Congrats everyone!! I hope those of us who didn't get an email yet will know whats going on soon! Haha

How many points did you have for those of you that haven't received an email yet? Just curious bc I haven't gotten an email either but only had 13 points.

I applied with 15 but only 13 were counted. One was a science w/lab from round 1 of school.

I got in as well!!! My email came at 11:36 :) I can't wait for orientation!

I got in as well! I applied with 16 points if anyone is still waiting for their email. =]

Hey! Congrats to everyone who got in! I've already emailed the lady about a point discrepancy, I'm sure I'm wrong but what sciences count? I had asked on here about physics before but I'm missing a point from the classes ive taken that actually apply to the associates in applied sciences. If it's just the pre req sciences are we talking like chem, a& p 1 and what? Nutrition? Psych is a soft science but neither nutrition nor psych have labs. I cant figure it out and I'm just speculating away 😕. Any who. I have a B in micro, a&p 1 and 2, nutrition and psych. And apparently only 2 of those count....

Like I said, I was told only the sciences that count toward the degree. So a point for each B in nutrition, AP 1 and 2 and micro which would give you 3 points on the sciences, I assume since they will only count three sciences. Have you taken Chem? That's a prereq to apply.

Yes chem does count. All of those (nutrition, a&p I & II, micro) count. But you can only use 3 classes for the science points.Intro to psychology does not count though.

So for those of us who didn't get accepted, are any of you interested in the 1+1 program?

If you didnt get accepted I would encourage you to apply to Rose State Nursing Program.
