I could only assume that them not inviting you to this meeting IS A GOOD THING! I am number 49, they would not ask me and not ask you unless they know you will get in! I know it's scary but try not to worry about it too much. Every semester I am told that about 20 alternates get into the nursing program.

what they do not tell you is that with your labs they are actually 12 hours which means you are fully time! I found out from another student and went to records and they confirmed. If you need a note (for insurance, scholarships, ect.) go to records and tell them you need a note saying you are in nursing school and you are full time! I was very angry to find out that it is full time and no one ever tells you that, they dont even mention it in orientation I was taking an extra class to be full time and I did not even need to!

I called yesterday... I left a msg stating my concerns and interest in attending the 1+1 meeting. ** called me back & left a msg, essentially saying:

There was no intention to exclude me from the 1+1 option...

I am more than welcome to attend. I may prefer that option over the Traditional Pathway. And........!

2 alternates have already been called. So, that means, for me, (and all of us!), we are 2 closer to getting in! woot!

Well I am very glad that you were told you can come to the meeting too! But it does make me more stressed out because now I feel like a lot of people were invited and this will be very competitive too. I hope I didn't get my hopes up too much on this 1+1 thing and then not be able to get in.

Did anyone go to the first 1+1 meeting? I can't make to the meetings due to work but am curious to know what was discussed. Since today is the deadline for the accepted to pass in their intent forms, maybe we'll get some more news about the waitlist by the end of the week.... But, the sooner the better!!!

I went to the meeting and they basically said you can apply at 1 or all 3 of the votechs for the 1+1 program. You need to get rosemarry kelpner or whatever her name is to send the votechs you choose a letter of recommendation. After you get your LPN degree from the votech and pass you NCLEX exam you are automatically accepted to OCCC for the 3rd and 4th semester of nursing school.

So... I am thinking about going to the 1+1 meeting in the morning. Anyone else? The deadline for acceptance passed 2 days ago. I haven't heard anything from the school. So, I don't want to assume anything...

Okay... So, I guess nobody is keeping up with this thread lately.

Today, I got the call I was waiting for... I'm in!!! And I was Alternate #4. So, who is Alternate #5??? I am so excited.!.!.! And want to give you a heads up! You're next!!!

Hey there everybody, here is the update on my side; I was on the waiting list #12 and today I called them and been told that now I'm #6. I'm about to give up hopes because after May 31 I was hoping to get called and I don't know after this point if anyone would still drop from the program... very discouraged!!! :crying2:
