OCCC fall 2014 hopefuls!!

yay!!! I'm applying in a few weeks. I was told normally LPN students have fewer points than traditional. you have a great GPA and points. I will be applying with 16-19 points I am debating the teas. and my GPA is just barely enough. :down: I am also applying clp. not much stuff on here for us. good luck to you!

I was hoping to get more response to this thread. Did you take your LPN-RN step exam for the CLP yet? I take mine March 4. Just a little nervous about it bc I dont know what to expect... :nailbiting:

mkpalmer31, I am just as nervous as you are. I try not to think about it. The only thing I know is dropping out is not an option for me. I've given up way too much to pursue this.

From what I understand, the career ladder path is designed specifically for LPN's to go directly to RN in 1/2 the time. Like I am not an LPN, so I need to go the traditional path because I need two more semesters than you. I went to speak with the nursing adviser in January and a lady there told me that they are pretty much accepting anyone going on the career ladder path (LPN to RN)..but don't take my word for it.

I just went to the last informational session, April 9th, and for the CLP (LPN-RN), the director said it takes 3 semesters to complete the program. Fall will be the transition course, Spring will be nursing process III, and Fall(15) will be nursing process IV. You would graduate in December 2015. Now, I wrote down that she said 63 students will be accepted, but I can't believe it is an odd number like that, but I have 63 wrote down, and of those 63 slots, 21 are reserved for the 1+1 students, so in reality 42 people will be accepted, unless some 1+1 students change their mind and give up their slot. She said approximately 90-100 applied....so there was no guarantee of all LPNs getting in as was promised before. They are selecting by 1) preference points and 2) G.P.A.. She told us if you need to have at least 15 preference points to be in good shape.

Hi I was just wondering what was the cutoff points and gpa for the fall of 2014 for the traditional pathway?

I haven't heard. In the past threads about this, people could call and they would tell them, but I think you find out in your letter. It's different every semester.

Just got my acceptance email from occc for the tradition fall!!! I applied with 17 points and a 4.0 gpa. Don't know what the point cutoff is though
