OCCC fall 2014 hopefuls!!

Just turned in my traditional nursing application for OCCC. I applied with a 3.3 GPA and 17 pref points. I am a LPN and will apply for LPN to RN too. I am just trying to get in any way possible to get finished up. Does anyone out there know what the GPA and Pref point range is to get in? The deadline for Fall 14 applications in April 7th...I think?? Just sooooo long to wait and see, curiosity is killing me! Thanks for info you have!

Also, did anyone get an email or letter stating that OCCC received your nursing application?

Just got my acceptance email from occc for the tradition fall!!! I applied with 17 points and a 4.0 gpa. Don't know what the point cutoff is though

I am alternate #14 had 17pts and 2.9. and maybe I'll get in but they are also offering the 1+1 to me if I don't get it. So, I can do the LPN work then transcend to the fast track. All is not lost.

I got in with 17 points and a gpa of 2.7. I'm sooooo excited!

Okay, I am so confused. How did you not get accepted and you had 17points and a 2.9, but AV2013 got in with the same amount of preference points and a lower g.p.a.?? Something seems wonky about that.

I got a rejection letter first, I was put at number 15 alternate. I went to talk to them after receiving it, I wanted to know what my points were. they had missed counted my points and only counted 16 and had over looked a class on my transcript. Shortly after talking to them about what they missed I received my acceptance letter. It's sounds like the same thing happened to djh2003. It happens more then you would think.

Oh man, that is crazy!!! And disheartening because I am about to turn my application for the CLP-RN there.....I will be very careful to check my points with them. If you don't mind me asking, what section of the preference points did they miss? Also, congrats!!

One of my classes on my transcript. It happens at other schools too. I have nurse friends that it has. That's why I knew to check.

I am Alt #3... I am pacing the floor to see if THREE people drop out!! It is sooooo nerve racking!!! LOL... Altho... Looking at the posts for Fall 2013... they said that most people drop at the orientation... Does anyone know the orientation date??

Orientation is Friday, July 25 9-5.

Congrats to everyone who was accepted! I was looking for a facebook group for our incoming class, but didn't see one. I see one called "OCCC Nursing Class of May 2015", but not our class yet. From what I heard, anyone can start it. It's not officially associated with the school-- just something students do. That would be a great way to "meet" each other before orientation and classes in the fall. I don't think it should be me who starts it, because technically I'm still an alternate. :( I think I'm 3rd or 4th now that some have dropped, but I'm still hopeful!! If anyone knows how to start a facebook group called "OCCC Nursing Class of May 2016", please do and I'll look for y'all there!!
