I know at OCC you have to take the MPT to get accepted, but does anybody know if we eventually have to take the NET and if we do when? I was just wondering because I thought read that somewhere.

As of right now the admittance process at OCC does not require you to take the NET. You need to finish the pre req's, take the MPT ( math test) and have a GPA higher than a 3.162........well if you wanted in for the 2008 class anyways. That was the lowest GPA that got in this year.

yes, i was reading the nursing handbook and it said you had to take the NET at some point in time after being accepted. this was to gauge what areas you might need extra help in. "the results of this test will not affect the student's admission to the program."
this was in the 2006-2007 nursing handbook. things may have changed, since the admission is now GPA based. so they basically know that the people accepted "should" be able to handle the course work.
I may need to correct this. Actually I think we do have to take the NET. But it is already after you are admitted and it does effect your spot in the program at all. I think I have that right now ! Sorry !

Did you mean that it doesn't affect you spot? I remember asking a 1st year and she told me that once you're in, you're in and that the NET is just to gauge where you're at and to see if you need any extra help, i.e. tutors, etc.
Thanks for the input. I am already accepted for fall 2008 I just didn't know how passing or failing the NET would affect me while I am in the program.

Nursing meeting????? I dont know anything about that! When did you get info on that?
I didn't get a letter. I just always go to oaklandcc.edu/nursing
And I knew in order to get accepted into the nursing program, you need to attend an information session.
