I am wondering if there is a weight requirement for nurses in Illinois. Is an obese nurse hirable?
OT: I find it was much easier to not even think about food before I became a SN. I'm used to moving.
I am going from being a bedside ED RN to being a trauma educator (omg, I will have a desk!) and I am going to have to watch what I eat. But I run literally every day (I think today is day 520 in a row?), at least a mile, but usually 2 or 3. The good thing: my cardio is great. The bad thing: my body is used to this now! Ugh. As I reach my mid-40s, this is going to be a struggle.
The good thing about "regular" hours - I am going to find a gym or fitness class or something external to my garage gym.

I went from bedside to STEMI Coordinator and definitely saw an increase in weight (15 pounds) but running and lifting solved that little issue. Now about mid-40s.........I'm in my 40s and have not experienced any struggles, just sayin

You are a guy. It's easier for guys.
Yea. I said it. Whatchugwandooboutit?
Yes, I completely disagree with the BMI calculation based solely on height and weight. At 5'5 155, I'm muscular and in great shape. I would be SICK at 130-140.
Same here: I run/lift weights 3x a week (been lifting on and off since middle school). 5'4 160, muscular and I carry most of my weight in my lower body. My friends always look at my incredulously when I say that I'm 15 lbs over the weight limit. I think at 120-140, I'd be all angles and ribs on top.
