What's the weirdest baby name?

Specialties Ob/Gyn Nursing Q/A

Hi, I was wondering about some of those weird names that you've probably encountered in L&D and PP. I remember when I had my maternity rotation a couple of weeks ago, one of the nurses said she remembers a patient that named her child Placenta. I couldn't believe it that some child has to live his life named after disgusting afterbirth!

baby's first name: Johnkerry

Co-worker's first name: Princess

Doctor's first name: Ocean

Most of these are in our unit now.........some are old favorites.

...our principal in high school was named Custer Quick.

One of my male LPNs here has the last name of Lee, and he married a woman named Lee. So she's now Lee Lee.

I think we can agree the darn jello names are bogus!

When I was in high school I had a teacher and her husbands name was Harry Dick lol:chuckle. I also have a cousin named Princess, and when I was growing up I remember a family that named their children all adjectives like Precious, Charming, and Handsome...:uhoh3: Poor people...

A friend of mine knew a real estate agent whose name was Harry Wanger. I always wondered what the logo on his business card looked like.

even though the name "Richard" is a family name on my mother's side of the family, it won't be carried on in MY family. Why, you ask? Because my married name is "Peters" - hmm, what do you think he would be called? I was really big when I carried my boys and each time I was pregnant, my husband would tell people that I was having twin boys and we were naming them "Richard" and "Rodney" (Dick and Rod) - I could have killed him when I found out he was doing that - he never did it in my hearing............

We stopped at two kids and he told people that's because he told me if I got pregnant again and had a daughter, we had to name her "Sofonda" or "Sharon" and I pitched a fit and refused to get pregnant again..........(so not true..)

He's actually an awesome husband and dad (the kids prefer him to me - I was just the pod that let them grow so they could come to life and worship their father) but he sure was a pistol when I was pregnant...........:uhoh21: :uhoh21:

A boy named after the Egyptian sun-god Ra. Easy to spell, I suppose.

Another boy: God Almighty, sibling of Buddha Armageddon. Poor children. I hope that's the last one.

My sister in-law named her daughter Jade Jewel not so strange but sounds stripperish. When I was little my older brother had a kid on his soccer team named CRITTER They would cheer for him from the side line and the other parent's would be giving each other the, is that his name look and sure enough it was. But the best was when I was having my daughter 2 yrs ago. My husband, my mom, and friend went to the nursery to look at the baby's and there he was this bundle of joy KING TEDDY BEAR....:rotfl: Now why on earth would you name your child that ??? I still wonder how KING TEDDY BEAR is doing....

Just remembered a couple more my daughter was in daycare with girl named Amica mouse (mickey mouse) I went to school with a girl named Nonyalum ( we called her no yay). My mother had a still born sister named Nora not to wierd but I knew twin girls named Nevah and Norah. And my fathers name is James, my mothers name is Julie, my brothers name is James (not a Jr. though he goes by Jimmy), my other brothers name is Jeffrey (goes by Jeff), I guess they ran out of J's when it came to me I am Audrey. I have never really liked my name but it has a story behind it. I was named after my fathers sister Audrey who was also born on November 8th and had red hair just like me, but she died of cancer before I was born. Shouldn't that be concidered bad luck or something???

I went to school with two girls one named Candy Bar...and the other Candi Corn. My husband worked with a Aqua Net once..that was her married name. lol
