New Year's Baby

The first baby born locally was born at our sister hospital at 4:05am. Pretty late according to that past few years.

So, how did your area do?

Did you see on the news about the twins that were born at 2357 on the 31st and 0014 (approx) on the 1st...how does that work for taxes....??????

Kristy

My guess is that the child born on the 31st will be able to be claimed as a tax deduction, and the other child will have to wait until next January to be "claimed".

Our first was a 29 week stillborn. Mom came in by squad with a big time abruption. Still had to go thru a c/section because she was hemorhaging and the baby was breech to boot. Really sobered us up! But we made up for it on the 3rd when we had twins - a boy and a girl.

Our first New Year baby was born at 2:03am on the 2nd! We're not THAT small a hospital either :D LOL

The father of our New Year's baby offered the doc a $10 tip if she would get his wife delivered before midnight so they could get the tax deduction! I told the doc, "Now that's something to shoot for, that whoppin' amount could pay off one of your Christmas credit cards!" She didn't buy it. That father definitely wanted the "beautiful little tax deduction"!

When I had my 3rd (and last!) we wanted the deduction as well...only he didn't cooperate...he was born Jan 6th, when he felt like being born!

In our area, the first baby and his parents were in the paper on New Years day. The local police recognized the father and arrested him on 2 outstanding warrants.....

Kristy,

Were these the twin girls born in North Carolina? They had that in our newspaper today. Now that older twin can really hold it over her younger sister.

I'm not sure where it was. I was only listening with half an ear while trying to go to sleep.

I'm waiting for our next rush of "there was nothing else to do in the frozen tundra but have sex" babies....that's always a busy time.

Well, with all the snowstorms and prolonged power outages hitting the East Coast, there should be lots of work for us OB nurses next summer to fall! Guess I know where I'll be looking for contracts!
