Hi All,
I was just notified a few days ago of receiving the opportunity to be interviewed for the next upcoming class of Accelerated Second Degree Nursing students at OU. As I was researching tonight I came upon a few threads from previous interviewees. So I thought the group of us going through this exciting and nerve wrecking process can keep in touch and go through it together. I am interviewing on July 14 and am very nervous . I want to be thoroughly prepared. As I was reading the posts I noticed some people mentioned an essay. I was not informed of any essay that had to be written at the interview. Has the interview process changed and have they stopped requiring candidates to write an essay? In my email notification of my interview all they told me was that the interview would be about 20 minutes long. If anyone has any valuable information and advice I would greatly appreciate it.
Have a great night and enjoy the weekend! The weather has been beautiful! :)
Thank you so much Stapha and Momof42011 I am ecstatic! And congrats to ManNurse72! I still have to take pathophysiology, nursing informatics, and pharmacology before May but I figure thats what this year is for so I wont be bored just working and still be in school :) How about the rest of you?
Wrapping up micro next week. I have the same three classes to take, but my registration is messed up. They told me that I should be able to register within a few days. I don't know if any of the classes are still available, but I wouldn't mind taking one or two in the Fall. Does anyone know if you can take just one a semester and still be able make the May deadline, or will I have to take two classes one semester? Oh, can you take all three at once? Thanks.
Momof4 congratulations! Anna B I took Micro at OCC. I think that is the last class I can take outside of Oakland. It's an interesting class. I have a 98% and our final is on Weds. After the good news of getting in, I have little motivation because we need a 2.5. However, I am studying this weekend, because it feels wrong not to.
Momof4! Congratulations! Enjoy that baby (I am a baby fanatic - which is why I kept having them, I always forget they are gonna grow up! ). Four is a lot of fun. It's crazy and hectic, but I wouldn't have it any other way!
I have already taken all of the pre-reqs. Patho was somewhat difficult, but I found Pharm to be easy. When I took NRS 221, however, it was Nutrition, not Informatics. I'd better find out if I need to retake that (I have an MIS degree, so it seems silly...).
What areas are you all from? I have a good friend going through the program now and two friends that have already finished. The one thing that I hear from everyone is that it's important to have study groups. I figure that might be easier with people that live in the same areas? I live in Rochester. Carpooling is also a great idea if we are still going downtown.
Which brings me to my next thought, the acceptance letter said I had been admitted, but the location was TBD. Last time I was accepted, it specifically said that the location was the Riverview Institute. I wonder if that means we are going to be somewhere else? Does anyone know when the new building on campus is supposed to be completed?
Congratulations again to all of you! I can't wait to get to know you!

I got my acceptance letter. I didn't hold my chances very high because they said there were requirements. I had a 3.0 and forgot my mission statement... oops. I can't wait to get this going
