Pre-nursing students applying for Fall 2020/Winter 2021 start date at Oakland Community College

Hello all ?

I am applying for Oakland Community College Nursing program in a few weeks and have loads of questions. Are you applying too? What's the GPA cut off? If you've graduated from or attended the program, how was/is it? Which is better, fall or winter start?

I am excited to apply and excited to meet other applying as well! We've got this!

The cut off was 13.6 last year. I applied and didnt not get in and in the letters they told you the cut off number! I have a 13.2

Hopefully it's lower this year. It sucks that your GPA is that high and you're having issues getting in over transfers...

Where did you transfer over from??

Did you retake classes to improve your GPA?

@knrogers54321 it's because of my repeats I get zero points towards that part, I have taken all my classes at OCC so I get the full points for that, I just didnt know I want to go into nursing so didnt do the best the first time I took some of the classes unfortunately but did the second time around!

I started off at WCCC many years ago where I took my 2 English classes. I graduated from OCC in 2008 for Respiratory and now looking to make a career change

@RTtoRNKey yes, unfortunately retakes are counted against you based on their weighted gpa calculations

Oh sorry I read that wrong. Still sucks. Hopefully the cut off score is lowered this year!

I emailed the counselor recently and they also told me they won't know anything by early April ??. I hope the score won't be higher than last year ? so nervous,guys..
