Pre-nursing students applying for Fall 2020/Winter 2021 start date at Oakland Community College

Hello all ?

I am applying for Oakland Community College Nursing program in a few weeks and have loads of questions. Are you applying too? What's the GPA cut off? If you've graduated from or attended the program, how was/is it? Which is better, fall or winter start?

I am excited to apply and excited to meet other applying as well! We've got this!

We're getting close! Does anyone have a backup plan? Of course I would love for all of us to get in, but I feel like the number of applicants is so high this year (probably because its actual competition, ya know).

Since most community colleges have a once a year admission...I have sent my transcript to chamberlain in Troy to see how many of my credits transfer towards their BSN program. I’ve had my pre reqs done for 2 years and life got in the way so this is my first year applying but I don’t want to wait a whole year to reapply again.

Has anyone else thought about chamberlain?

@Velvett I also applied to Chamberlain. I had gotten accepted last year, but had to give my seat up. All of my pre-reqs from OCC had transferred over!! I am also finishing my pre-reqs up for OU and applying in the winter to their BSN program!

was the chamberlain HESI pretty hard?

@Velvett I absolutely love OU thus far, thank you!!

The Chamberlain A2 HESI was definitely something that I needed to refresh myself on. It is extremely doable, I passed the first time. It's nice because they average alllll of the sections, so you do not need to pass each section with a certain score.

Do we know actually how many people applied this year? The counselor told me that they were expecting similar number as last year..

Yes more than the number if seats applied last year! I havent heard about how many applied this year!
