Pre-nursing students applying for Fall 2020/Winter 2021 start date at Oakland Community College

Hello all ?

I am applying for Oakland Community College Nursing program in a few weeks and have loads of questions. Are you applying too? What's the GPA cut off? If you've graduated from or attended the program, how was/is it? Which is better, fall or winter start?

I am excited to apply and excited to meet other applying as well! We've got this!

I don’t have an anticipated graduation date on mine but everything else is checked. I wonder If that is new.

Right and mine is only a year away so who knows what that means

I hope so. It just gives me anxiety having to wait. I know a lot of people who did really well. Also I believe the anticipated date is basing off of the prerequisites being completed as a Nursing Applicant.

Is it required that we have taken a physical education class for the program? I don't see anywhere in the admission guide that we need that, but for some reason in my progress report that's highlighted in red and says I still need to complete that... I'm not sure if it's talking about for the program or just in general.

That is very strange. I never took a physical education class nor do I have anything marked as red. I'm sure the website has most likely made some sort of mistake.

I attached some pictures of what my screen looks like. I emailed the counselor to make sure. But yeah so weird lol idk why it’s popping up!

Does it say nursing applicant at the top?? That is totally a mistake, I'm glad you emailed your counselor!

I was just about to ask that. Or what catalog year you are going by?

Yeah it says nursing applicant and major is nursing. My catalog says 2015, what does that mean?

Maybe it was a class needed for a previous catalog year. I know they have made changes over the years on what is required and what is not. Just check. I’m sure they will fix it, but definitely ASAP since they are reviewing to send letters out.
