Pre-nursing students applying for Fall 2020/Winter 2021 start date at Oakland Community College

Hello all ?

I am applying for Oakland Community College Nursing program in a few weeks and have loads of questions. Are you applying too? What's the GPA cut off? If you've graduated from or attended the program, how was/is it? Which is better, fall or winter start?

I am excited to apply and excited to meet other applying as well! We've got this!

I wouldn’t say perfect. I have two “extra” classes that rolled over for English when I transferred my credits from my business degree and I believe they count against me.

@Tracy Dushaj who has gotten a letter? So far I have gotten noooootta from OCC. I wish they would be normal and send the *** out at either the beginning of the month or end of the month ? this waiting 3 more weeks for the middle of the damn month is nonsense.

They dont send them out until the 16th for everyone!

I'm not sure the thickness is noticeable I just know from last year that the people who got accepted got 2 pieces of paper, the acceptance letter and a piece of paper to mail back accepting the acceptance LOL

I just went back and reread the post I was getting confused by. I misread the post. It said "I have it" so I took that as having the letter. I was wrong. LOL. Sorry guys for my confusing replies. ?

I feel like we all need to go out for a drink! This has been the most stressful "almost" three months, and the fact that we have all made is this far, well, there is no stopping us now! Regardless if it is OCC's program, Chamberlain, another CC or University; we will all have that RN behind our name at some point!

Hey all, I applied for the nursing program last December. I applied with all points, but I think that I might be priority two because I was still taking a prerequisite class I needed when I applied. I don’t know how that will effect me. Any ideas? I’m excited to get started on this journey!

I don't think that would make you a priority 2. Priority 2 means you haven't taken them at all and would need to take them while in the program. That is how I understood it.

Hey @Fairrah Pauley! Do you mean you applied this last December of 2019? What is the prereq that you're taking that wasn't completed?
