NYU Spring 2015 ABSN

Published

Hi everyone! I'm applying for the NYU Spring 2015 ABSN program and haven't been able to find any threads about the program yet. Feel free to post questions you have or to share information about the program, your personal stats, advice for writing the personal statement or just to say hi. Here's to speedy acceptances and a fun future in nursing! :)

My Stats:

Just graduated from Brooklyn College with a B.S. in Psychology and an overall GPA of 3.38

Got an A in almost all the pre-reqs, don't know the pre-req GPA

Volunteered as an EMT for 4 years and worked for 2 years

Worked as a Direct Care Worker for 1 year

Volunteer in Methodist Hospital in the Stepdown Unit

That's what I saw based off of the posts from last years forum.... Beginning to middle November. We just have to cross our fingers and wait and see :)

Anyone got any news??????:nailbiting:

I wrote an email to admissions about my file, and received two automatic responses from two different people stating that they will be out of the office until November 10th.... Not sure if that will affect our decisions or not...

Hi everyone ! I applied as a transfer student for spring 2015. I emailed them and they said you should recieve your notifications Starting novemember 15th to January 1st!

Thanks for the heads up! I know Nov. 15th is only 9 days away but it still feels soooo far away!

Hey guys - I'm applying for the Fall 2015 cohort, so best of luck to all of you applying for the Spring 2015 semester! Hope you all hear some good news soon!

I have a question - what's everyone's plan/thoughts on how to pay for NYU's tuition? I know there is some financial aid from the school available, and I'm sure people are thinking about taking out private loans, but is anyone thinking about specific scholarships? I feel like most scholarships I've seen have the criteria that you have to already be accepted by a program, or need to be enrolled, so it's too soon to apply for them. Also, I've heard that HRSA is an option? Just wondering what people's strategies are...

Gilly, you should join the fall thread: NYU ABSN Fall 2015. My plan is whatever I don't get from federal loans or scholarship, I'll use private loans. I'm definitely going to look into HRSA too. Haven't read too much about it yet.

Same here...on that note, does anyone know how generous (or not so generous) NYU is with aid?

If you guys get in, where will you live?

If you guys get in, where will you live?

I'm from Long Island so I'll just commute. The LIRR is my best friend.

I will probably just move to hoboken / manhatten / BK... Where ever I find something affordable. Open to living with someone in the program as well....
