NYU hiring process

Published

Hello I recently applied for a position at NYU, they sent me an email recently saying to complete an online questionnaire or assessment tool. Is that a good sign? Do I have a good chance of hearing back?

Also, what are your suggestions as to following up with the phone recruiter?

Hi,

I applied to the new grad residency on 4/10 but I havent heard anything back. My application status says that it has been received and under review. When did you apply? How quickly did you hear something back?

I knew we had a phone call before I submitted my application, I was an extern last summer and kept in contact with my HR person. wouldn't stress though, basically she asked me about my experience, why I wanted to work at NYU and that they wouldn't officially interview me until I have at least scheduled my NCLEX...can't do that until graduation in mid may. And didn't give me a date for an interview either. Still don't fully understand the purpose of the call. I was told to call them back come then.

Same thing happened to me! When I graduted in Decemeber I didnt get the email to sign up for NCLEX until Jan 9th. Then you need at least 3 weeks to study for it. All together it could take 1-2 months just to take your NCLEx and if you pass on the first try then you have to wait for avaiablitly that's why they dont tell you the date for an interview

I'm not a new grad and have 4 yrs ICU experience. I'm scheduled to have interview in this week. But is the hiring process for experienced RN different from newgrad? I didn't do phone interview and HR sent me to do online pharm exam and unit knowledge exam before interview. I passed both anyway. Any info...?

Hi, wonder if u still have that study guide?did u have to do math and pharm, or just math,exam?

Did the hunter green color work for you guys in the PACU? I start in June as I'm going away for a bit in May!

I also had 3 years of ICU experience. I had a phone interview and was scheduled to go to an event. I took the pharm exam after I received my offer but that was done in person.

Hey all, I had interview today, but I 'm not sure whether it is good or bad. I interviewed with HR first and after that recruiter gave me individualized salary information(printed in excel) and holiday policy paper. She said orientation will be on June. Later on, I did panel interview and questions were quite tricky. At the end, I did rounding with one of the staff and that's all. Just waiting game...? Plz Give me any advice;;

This is pretty standard when it comes to NYU. We all go to HR - they tell us the benefits and when orientation will start. Then you meet with nurse manager or a group panel. Usually they tell you when you'd hear back from them &/or they'd give you their card. I would send a thank you email afterward, and wait for her to answer. I was told literally the next day for my first interview, and I didn't get the job, and the same day for my second interview, when I got the job. It depends on the nurse manager and when she tells HR but after I think around 6P their office is closed (?) But yeah it's pretty much a waiting game. I got a call from HR about the job offer first then I got an email but some people get an email only. I guess it all depends on who your recruiter is
