Members are discussing the hiring process at NYU Langone, sharing experiences with phone screens, interviews, and references. Some express frustration with the website, while others offer advice on navigating the application process and timelines for hiring. Questions about salary offers for new grads and comparisons between hospitals are also brought up.
Hello I recently applied for a position at NYU, they sent me an email recently saying to complete an online questionnaire or assessment tool. Is that a good sign? Do I have a good chance of hearing back?
I am one of the Dec 2017 New Grad Applications. I was told to contact the nurse manager in Jan for their next interview. However I got a call from another lady in HR it seems like they really want people who have their license (right now) to start working in Jan BADLY (which the lady told me on the phone Jan-Apirl is when they want the most hires but really in Jan/Feb). So I told her I didn't have it yet and I'm waiting for my test, she told me to keep in touch asap because they would like to bring me in. But this just makes me think that they are so many people waiting for a response and they are still calling so many people for an interview? It makes me feel like they need more people or the people who are waiting are not going to get the position? I thought it was interesting.
@ Kmichellex I am also a December 2017 graduate from NYU. They called me as well , and asked me when I would have my license, and I told them that I would not be able to take my boards until the end of February . They told me to just keep them posted in regards to my NCLEX date . I am excited , and also nervous because they need nurses for January , and I hope I am still eligible for a position. I had a phone interview early in December , followed by another call back .

I don't think they will fill their positions. They're calling Dec Grads and asking for more interviews. They haven't called back the Oct Interviewers who are still waiting which is kind of messed up to me. My friend who has friends who work there said they need a lot of employees and it looks like it'll continue going on until March (the high hiring spree). I'm more worried about if the units I'd like to work in will be fill by that time.
Hi! So if anyone was worried like me (aka my last post), the med exam is incredibly easy haha. And also, if anyone has any info on the orientation schedule, please let me know! Thank you in advance!
So I was told that there are just 2 days of strict orientation- that Mon and Tues, 8-4ish, each day split in half between office-type stuff and time on the floor. I'm not sure what happens after those 2 days, but it seemed like we might be heading straight to the floor with our preceptor. But if anyone has heard anything else, please let us know!
Hello! I am a December graduate from CT. I have been in contact with a recruiter since October and recently found out I have an interview with a nurse manager on Friday. My recruiter is aware that I cannot take the NCLEX for another month, so I am curious as to why I am interviewing so early. Has anyone else had this experience? From what I have heard, NYU does not hire until after you have your license... thank you!

Did you tell the lady on the phone that you won't have it until Jan? I would call and make sure because it seems like the only positoins they want filled now are the ones where we have our liscene. She told me to come in this week too but then at the lis min she asked if I had my liscene then she told me to come back in Jan because most of the floors are just foucsed on that (unless the floor whos interviewing you doesnt mind!)
