NYU hiring process

U.S.A. New York

Published

Hello I recently applied for a position at NYU, they sent me an email recently saying to complete an online questionnaire or assessment tool. Is that a good sign? Do I have a good chance of hearing back?

Hey, has anyone specifically from the periop interview day received anything? I don't seem to be getting the same updates as those who went the 12th. I followed up the end of last week and was told they are still waiting for approvals and final feedback from administration, just pretty vague...

I haven't received anything since the email from October 27.

Anyone get any new updates??

I had my phone interview.

ALL questions:

1. Why NYU?

2. Tell me about your experiance base off your resume?

3. What type of units do you find yourself working with?

--

She also to me that they are trying to bring together all the interviewers. She told me that she is writing my name down on a list and if I don't hear from her by Mid Dec to send her an email. They are trying to do a big interview event so we can meet all of the nurse mangers.

She also said the new building basically will have all of their acute services (ICUS, Med surg ,etc) and this has state of the art equipment. She said the Langone building will be renonvated eventually so it can match their new building. But she said because of this they are starting their new Grads in Jan/Feb/March/Apirl so they can be ready or almost ready by June (when the new building opens).

I hope we hear something by December! I really would like to interview before then ): I had my HR phone and in-person interview at the end of October. HR has just told me to keep checking in for updates. Initially they told me end of the November for the next big intervew event. However, just a couple days ago I called and HR said because they're so overwhelmed with placing new grads from the October interview day, we might be looking at a January interview event.

Let me know if you get anymore updates! Maybe we can exchange contact info :)

Hi everyone! I am graduating with my BSN (second degree) in December and taking the NCLEX in Feb 2018. I have just started Langone's online application process and am wondering how exactly to answer some of these questions as I am technically still in school. For example, when they ask if you have your BSN, do I answer yes or no? Also, when they ask for number of years of experience, I assume I put "0" as I'll be a new nurse or do they count overall healthcare experience (CNA, PCT, etc.) as well? I definitely do not want their system to automatically weed me out based on these answers. Any input would be much appreciated from someone in a similar situation! Thanks!

Hopefully, we have more answers soon! Good luck everyone.

Of course! You can DM me if you need anything!

She said they want to do a big event Dec because of the hiring months Jan-Apirl and the fact that they want us to be okay or at least almost done with orientation by June (unless you're starting in Apirl and in an ICU/acute setting that needs 6m+). I told me my name was on the list for the interview event and to expect an email in about a month from now.. so I find that strange that you guys have to wait until Jan. She told me I don't need another interview besides coming to the event.

I am still in school. I just has my phone interview yesterday. She invited me to an interview event or nurse manager event (not sure what it's called).

When I applied I said no I don't have my BSN (because I don't have that yet.) I put 0 because I don't have any exeperiance as a nurse. They will be able to see if you have PCT experiance through your resume. But I get what you mean, I put 0 and no and I got a call so you're fine

Is anyone who attended the interview day in October and keeps receiving emails explaining that we're still being considered but that there is a delay as confused as I am regarding what step to take next? Do I wait? Is it normal for the hiring process to take this long? It's been 4+ weeks now since the interview day and I'm so eager to get an official answer

I feel the same way. I'm just so confused. It will be so disappointing if after all this they just reject us. Im temped to reach out the the nurse managers because I think they are the one who ultimately make the final decision, but I don't want to seem pushy.
