Hello,
I have noticed there isn't a thread for those applying for NYU Accelerated Nursing Fall 2014. Let's share feedback, advice, stats, etc... I went to an open house today at NYU. They really do stress that since there is no interview, the personal statement is our chance to prove ourselves. They also said they get about 1,000 applicants and a Fall entrance class usually have about 150 students in it.
What part of the application process are you in?
How is the personal statement going?
How many pre-reqs do you have left?
nata17 justhilray congrats! Can't wait to meet u guys in the fall :)
Nata17- I'm still taking per-reqs too. They just asked me to send my transcript when I finish classes.
jperez-congrats! I was reading a forum about NYU vs Georgetown and people were saying that Georgetown has the better program.
@Nata ~ I was deciding between the 2 as well.. I pretty much summed up my reasoning for choosing Pace here:

I got in this morning ... thrilled! I am also considering Rochester and also how the transition is between asbn
And becoming a nurse practitioner. That is ultimatley what I want to be. I am from NJ live 45 min away should I live in the city, because living at home would save me lots of money but not time. Any suggestions? Also, if I decide to go I would like to have a study buddy or group. Anyone up for that?
Where are you from? Are you planning to live there? Congrats I got my email today too!Hey everyone! I've been stalking this forum for a while now worrying 24/7 about why I hadn't heard back yet. I told myself I'd make an account if I was accepted - which I was at 8:13 this morning and I'm definitely going. NYU is my dream school! :)
I agree with u on alot of the points, it's just i read and heard that for nyu graduates, you can get a job very quickly after graduation, as well as one of the highest paid saleries then from any other school so the tuition in nyu may be well worth it. It's alot to think about though, very hard decition

I have not heard that.. I've actually heard the opposite several times - where you obtain your ABSN from plays minimal (if no) role in obtaining a job.. it's more of the connection with clinical placements. As far as salaries, that has to do with the hospital or other facility in which you gain employment, the school you went to does not determine your salary. And on the point of school recognition, NYU and Pace are both extremely well-known through-out the city / tri-state area. As I relayed in my previous post, NCLEX passing rates, tuition, location, and clinical placements IMO are the most important factors in making a decision. it's definitely a tough, but good decision to have to make. gl!
