NYU Fall 2014 ABSN

U.S.A. New York

Published

Hello,

I have noticed there isn't a thread for those applying for NYU Accelerated Nursing Fall 2014. Let's share feedback, advice, stats, etc... I went to an open house today at NYU. They really do stress that since there is no interview, the personal statement is our chance to prove ourselves. They also said they get about 1,000 applicants and a Fall entrance class usually have about 150 students in it.

What part of the application process are you in?

How is the personal statement going?

How many pre-reqs do you have left?

That's great I'm very similar to you but still waiting to hear from nyu. When did you send all your documents in?

I sent in my app just before the March 1st priority deadline. I think it was february 27th. But I sent in my transcripts and recommendations about 2 weeks after that

Has anyone started a Facebook group for the Fall 2014 Accelerated Cohort?

No I was looking for one but I'm pretty sure there isn't one made. I was thinking of making one...

For those of you who have accepted your offers, I have a question: Under confirming your acceptance, does anyone know which option to choose and if it matters? There are early decision I & II, and regular decision, etc. Or can we just confirm right through Albert?

I think we can confirm right through Albert thats what I did. But if you applied to ABSN I think we are considered 'fall transfer admitted students'. I clicked 'regular decision' and they said something about Class of 2018 so that's not us.

Thanks! My Albert login was blank when I signed in, so I was super confused. Now everything was on the page and I put down my deposit! Super excited!

Did anyone pay a deposit for another school while waiting for this one?

is that for admitted students also? I understand some schools want an applicant to wait a year or so if they were declined - to work on boosting up their application but if an applicant is accepted for the Fall but cannot go for whatever reason, you would think they would be able to apply for Spring. Otherwise it seems like the school is penalizing an accepted applicant.

I actually have no idea! :(

Hi Everyone! Thanks so much for posting all this information, it has helped me so much along the way! I just found out I was admitted yesterday and have some questions for other admitted students.

How long did you have to wait before receiving your financial aid offer? It's the one factor that is preventing me from accepting right away. NYU is expensive!!

I think you should get it soon, at least before the deadline at which you have to accept. Did you fill out the FAFSA for them?

I got my financial aid offer... it really wasn't much, about $10k in grants and maybe $25k total including loans?

I did fill out FAFSA. I guess I'll just have to be patient!

@dee789 when did you get accepted?
