Nyu accel prog spring 2010

Published

Hey everyone.. Just wanted to open up a thread in regards to NYU's accelerated program. I recently submitted my application and am waiting at the edge of my seat.

Thanks!

I don't know what I should do now....

ugh-such hard decisions!!

hello NYU students,

I got my acceptance letter in the mail a few days ago (so excited) but have some questions about housing. It seems that all of the on campus housing is a shard room situation. I would rather have my own room. Is anyone looking for a roommate? Does anyone have any advice for housing? Thanks. Hope to meet you all soon.

Hey student 002 I am in the process of looking for housing too! I am not sure I want to do the housing at NYU.

i just got my acceptance letter today! but there was no financial aid package so i have no clue what to do now...how is everyone paying for all of this?

Hi Mike

Congrats! Looking fwd to seeing you in the spring. First you should fill out your fafsa form which you can find on NYU's website. Make sure you have all important info like W-2, tax info etc. Thats what I did. I think after you fill that out then they tell you what your elgible for.

Hope that helps :)

Just got my acceptance letter!!! So stoked about it! But ... as much as I'd love to attend, I don't know if it's just absolutely foolish to pay this much for my nursing degree! I would have to pay for EVERYTHING with private loans, ayyy. How do you guys plan to pay for this?! And does anybody know if they offer scholarships for the Accelerated program? I'm going to call on Monday and see if I can get any information.

I've been accepted into a local community college, which obviously has much lower tuition, but I wonder if it really is "less expensive" in the long-run since I'd be taking a step-down to get an Associate's degree (my goal is to get my Master's), and it would then take me several years to work my way up to getting my Master's ... so confused about all of this!

Hey everyone!!

I was accepted a week ago!! I am soooo excited!! Jan 19th is coming quickly though!! I am doing everyyything on loans so this should be interesting!!! eeeek! Anybody looking to move into an off campus apt?! Let me know, I have been looking at places. Send me a pm... let me know what you are thinking!! yayy can't wait to meet everyone... congrats congrats!!

Hey guys! I was just wondering if those that were accepted could post up their statistics if they wouldn't mind? I was planning on applying for this fall, but wanted to see if I even had a chance. Thanks and Congrats!

autumnlove,

did you get accepted to the program?

hi lipeach,

yes I did but I decided not to go, as the tuition costs are insane and a few people who went through the program advised against it

I dont want to badmouth anything but for various different reasons I changed my decision...I may apply to some other programs for next fall

for now I am just re-assessing my options...

so frustrating!!

did you get a decision letter?

I plan on applying for the fall semester. I agree with others that I'd rather spend more $ to get accepted than waitlisted. I will be taking my pre-reqs at Medgar Evers in Brooklyn in spring 2010 and summer then apply to NYU as a transfer student.
