Hey everyone.. Just wanted to open up a thread in regards to NYU's accelerated program. I recently submitted my application and am waiting at the edge of my seat.
Thanks!
Hi everyone, I have been accepted in accelerated program at NYU and start 01/19/2010, next week is orientation. I am hoping to hookup with students who start with me, 'cause we have to hit the ground running. The program is intense to say the least. Hi Lipeach21, I did my prereqs at Medgar Evers.
HI 2BEagle,
Congrats! Did you get any financial aid/scholarship at NYU?
I got accepted to Medgar for spring 2010 and will be taking my prereqs there. I also plan on applying to NYU for the fall. Do you have any recommendation for which courses/professors I should take? Is the neighborhood really as scary as everybody said?
Didn't qualify for any aid, got $2500.00 scholarship from NYU. Regarding Medgar Evers for Micro if u can take Dr ******, for A+P 2 I had Dr ***** she is a superb lecturer, extremely thorough, however, her tests can be tricky but she sets the departmental midterm and final so her test should be good practice for those exams. Micro and A+P do have departmental midterm and final (accumulative). I was scared going into the neighborhood also but not as bad as is protrayed, actually I never encountered or witnessed anything untoward...fairly heavy cop presence so thats definitely a deterant...I drove didnt take the subway.

per the terms of service of the site, please do not post names/contact information of instructors or other school officials.
while it is important to be able to network, everyone should be mindful of the following:
- it is a small world - when we narrow it down to a state and throw in some personal info, there is actually a pretty good chance someone may recognize you if you are not careful. your privacy is paramount to us.
- while allnurses.com is a wonderful place to vent (without excess personally identifiable details) it is not the place to express why ("x" specific person, place or program) is terrible. gripe away, but since we cannot permit allegations to be made about named entities, your care in not naming them is very much appreciated.
- please do not give out personal information about others. do not name names where anyone could identify the person in any facility including your nursing programs.
it is better to communicate this type of information via private message. members will be able to send private messages once they have 15 posts.
thank you,

yea it is a very competitive program in the city-especially at the community colleges! I will try to finish my pre-reqs probably before trying to apply to hunter...
I really just don't want all that debt! But I am sure NYU is a great program for some, and the right decision, good luck with it I am sure you will be fine!
I just didnt like the idea of spending sooooo much $$$ and possibly being frustrated with administrative issues...been there, done that...
