NYU ABSN Spring 2020

Hello everyone!

My name is Kaitlyn and I was recently accepted into NYU Meyers as a Second Degree (non-accelerated) student. I'll be finishing up my prerequisite courses at NYU this Fall 2019 and will then begin the ABSN curriculum with, hopefully, some of you all in the Spring 2020 cohort!

Just wanted to start a thread for everyone to communicate on as you all work on getting your applications in ?

Thank you!! What’s your schedule like if you don’t mind me asking? Do you have any morning classes?
I would love to avoid any kind of night classes lol.

The schedule doesn’t look bad at all, especially with what I went in expecting, MW 8am-10:45 Tuesday’s 6:15-9pm Thursdays are clinical days 7:30am-3:30pm & Friday’s 8am-2;45pm so the only night class that we unfortunately do have is Wednesday’s.

Hey did you recieve your finacial aid package yet? im curious to see how much they will probably give me since I have not recieved my package yet?

Hi! No I did not since I filed day FAFSA this morning for the Years 2020-2021. But I believe it will vary based on the income your household receives.

Hey, I will also be In the program for the upcoming semester. I'm trying to figure out how I register for classes or if it just appeared in your account and they made it for you?

They automatically set you up with a schedule, like I said I was accepted in the beginning of November, so if you were recently accepted just give it some time!

Hi, unfortunately the financial aid office found that I didn’t have financial need and for that reason I only got about 2k. Also, it didn’t help that I’m taking a part-time schedule to finish out the last of my preclinical sequence. In regards to the schedule, it’s only created for you, once you are in the clinical sequence. Computerized and completely random to give everyone a schedule that’s as fair as possible. If you’re just a transfer you’ll select your own schedule with guidance from the advising office who will reach out to you soon.

Congrats to everyone that got accepted! I was wondering if anyone is taking a loan out for living expenses? That's what I am thinking about doing since they recommend that you don't work during the program. If anyone is also doing this or has any information on how to go about this please let me know. I have been trying to find information online about that but I haven't found anything that's helpful. I'm trying to figure everything out before classes start.

Does anyone know when we’ll be receiving a schedule? I’m a transfer student and they said they would make it for me. How long did it take to receive a schedule?
